Man Arrested in London Stabbing Attack Had ISIS Propaganda, 'San Bernardino Material' on Phone

I wrote on Sunday about a stabbing in an east London Tube station the day before, which was being described at the time as a "terrorist incident." Now, investigators are revealing the contents of the mobile phone belonging to the suspect, who has been identified as 29-year-old Muhaydin Mire, and what they've found is pretty shocking.

In an initial examination of the suspect's phone, the U.K.'s Westminster Magistrates Court has identified the following: "images and flags related to ISIS, material on the recent attacks in America, images of orange jump suit wearing Islamic State prisoners, images related to the recent attacks in Paris, and images of a British police exercise involving an active shooter scenario."

Muhaydin Mire, 29, was charged with attempted murder and appeared in court today. The name associated with his phone was "Die in Your Rage Crusader," the court revealed.

Mire reportedly yelled "This is for Syria, my Muslim brothers," before he was hit by a taser and detained by the police. Mire stabbed three people, injuring one seriously. A Twitter trend, #YouAintNoMuslimBruv, inspired by one of the remarks spoken to Mire during his arrest, trended around the world during the weekend.

Now, although Mire had an ISIS flag and information about the San Bernardino attack on his phone, this doesn't mean that he's an actual member of ISIS. This attack could have been inspired by the attack in California on Wednesday, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Mire is actually connected with any formal ISIS cells or was receiving orders from overseas.

The U.K. began airstrikes in Syria last week after a lengthy debate in Parliament.
