John Howell

"Big" John Howell currently co-hosts the "Big John and Amy Show" each weekday morning on AM 560 WIND in Chicago. John came to Chicago over 20 years ago and has been heard on WUSN-FM, WJMK-FM, and WCKG-FM. He’s also hosted the nationally syndicated Country Gold, a live call-in request show heard across the country via the Westwood One Radio Network from 1999-2006. Originally a native of Holland Michigan, John graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston (1982) and traveled the United States as a trumpet/ trombonist and music director/arranger with a variety of groups and shows from 1982-1983. He began radio career at WZND in Zeeland, Michigan, and spent time in Grand Rapids at WLAV, WJFM and WGRD. Off the mic, he is the father of an 11 year-old son.
