The conflict in Iran is nearing completion, President Donald Trump said in a 9 p.m. address to the nation.

In four weeks, our armed forces have delivered “swift, overwhelming victories” via Operation Epic Fury, Trump said.

Iran’s navy and air force are destroyed, Trump said.

“Never in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses in a matter of weeks,” Trump said.

The Iranian regime killed 45,000 of its own people who were protesting, Trump said.

“We don’t have to be there. We don’t need their oil. We don’t need anything they have, but we’re there to help our allies,” Trump said.

The strikes started because Iran was trying to build nuclear bombs, Trump said.

“My first preference was always the path of diplomacy,” Trump said. “Yet the regime continued their relentless quest for nuclear weapons and rejected every attempt at an agreement.”

Iran lied about having missiles that could reach over 4,000 kilometers, which would have allowed them to strike many cities in Europe, Trump said.

“We are systematically dismantling the regime’s ability to threaten America, and project power outside their borders," Trump said. "That means eliminating Iran’s Navy, which is absolutely destroyed.”

Thirteen U.S. soldiers have died fighting Iran, Trump said.

The rise in oil prices is because Iran is attacking its neighbors and oil tankers, Trump said.

“We’ve beaten and completely decimated Iran,” Trump said.

Trump said that other countries should buy oil from the U.S. and go to the Strait of Hormuz and take oil.

“We are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives, shortly, very shortly," Trump said.

The U.S. and its allies will hit Iran hard over the next few weeks, Trump said.

“If there is no deal, we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously,” Trump said.

The president urged Americans to keep the conflict in perspective. World War I lasted a year. World War II lasted for over three years, he said.

The Iran conflict has lasted about a month so far.

“Tonight, every American can look forward to a day when we are finally free from the wickedness of Iranian aggression and the specter of nuclear blackmail because of the actions we have taken," Trump said. "We are on the cusp of ending Iran’s sinister threat to America and the world.”

Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
