The American justice system under the current Democrat leadership is nothing short of a cry for help. After several illegal immigrants were captured on video physically assaulting a group of NYPD officers, they were released back onto the street without bail.
Pressure is mounting on officials to deport the asylum seekers who are accused of beating the NYPD officers in New York City's Time Square.
Earlier this week, surveillance footage showed a police officer and lieutenant telling the illegal migrants to keep moving on a street in Manhattan. However, things turned ugly quickly when tension rose between the cops and a suspect, who was then wrestled to the ground.
Moments later, several more illegal immigrants can be seen rushing out and handing out kicks and punches to the bodies of NYPD cops.
"It is absolutely disgusting that people who are in this country, that are being housed by the taxpayers, would turn around and disrespect our laws and our law enforcement, and I believe that the mayor has to work to deport these individuals," Staten Island Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) said.
She added that it is disgusting and irresponsible for the city to be protecting illegal migrants from deportation who have committed heinous crimes toward the men in blue.
Malliotakis called on Mayor Eric Adams (D-NY) to overturn a law enacted by former Democrat Mayor Bill De Blasio that prohibited the NYPD and city officials from cooperating with federal immigration officials.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Rebecca Weiner responded to a question on Thursday if the city will contact ICE to remove the illegal migrants suspected of assaulting the officers due to the city's "sanctuary city" status.
"[S]o, you say you have good relationships with the federal government. But if something like this happens in Times Square, they go to jail. But what happens if you called ICE, the [Immigration] and Customs Enforcement, and [say], we want you to come get these guys and get them out of town? Does that happen if it's a sanctuary city here in New York," Fox News host Dana Perino asked.
"Well, if they're in jail, then that is a good solution to the problem," Weiner responded.
"But they're not. But they're out on bail — they're out without bail," Perino followed up.
"Agreed. We can't have people out on bail committing crimes in this city, absolutely not. From our perspective, we need to do what we can to make sure that we're intercepting people before they're committing major incidents like this one," she said.
