The president's remarks come as Mueller faces a Friday deadline to make two new court filings related to why he believes Paul Manafort allegedly broke his cooperation agreement and how Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen ought to be punished for lying to Congress last year. Cohen's charge, however is "part of a newly announced plea deal, and the ex-Trump lawyer is said to be cooperating extensively with Mueller," FoxNews.com reports.

Comey will also testify before the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Friday.
