Speaking to donors during a phone call Tuesday night, former Vice President Joe Biden said the Wuhan coronavirus crisis has been "exciting" because it gives Democrats an opportunity to pursue their far-left political agenda.
"I believe because sort of, the blinders have been taken off because of this Covid crisis. I think people are realizing, 'My Lord, look at what is possible. Look at the institutional changes we can make without us becoming a socialist country or any of that malarkey. That we can make to provide the opportunities to change the institutional drawbacks from education all the way through to all the other things we talked about," Biden said according to the pool report of the call. "If I sound like I'm excited, I am."
This position has been used for weeks by House Democrats, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, to take advantage of the crisis.
In March, Pelosi held up a major $2 trillion relief package after packing a new bill full of far-left agenda items like extreme emissions standards for airlines, mandatory mail-in voting, collective bargaining, $15 federal minimum wage, race and gender quotas for company boards and more.
Over the past week, Pelosi allowed the Paycheck Protection Program to run dry at the request of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This behavior prompted a brutal and accurate ad from the Trump campaign.
