Marking Christmas Eve at Mar-a-Lago Wednesday morning, President Trump held a teleconference with U.S. troops serving around the world.  

“You’re tremendous warriors, and we appreciate it so much,” Trump said. “I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.”

“I hope every member of our military will feel the overwhelming gratitude of our nation," he continued.

Over Thanksgiving, President Trump made a surprise visit to Afghanistan. 

Last Christmas, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made a surprise trip to Iraq.
