BREAKING: White House to Release New DACA Proposal on Monday

Speaking from the White House Wednesday afternoon, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced the administration will officially release an immigration framework on Monday. The framework will include a DACA fix and embraces border security principles already laid out by President Trump.

"Last fall the White House sent Congress a list of the core reforms necessary to fix our immigration system. These reforms were assembled in coordination with front line law enforcement officers and career public servants who know what is necessary to keep America safe. Since that time, President Donald J. Trump and his administration have hosted dozens of meetings with Republican and Democrat leadership and rank and file members of the House and Senate to discuss these reforms to find a bipartisan path forward," Sanders said.

"Based on these negotiations, the White House will release a legislative framework on Monday that represents a compromise that members of both parties can support. We encourage the Senate to bring it to the floor," she continued. "This framework will include the four agreed upon pillars: securing the border and closing legal loopholes, ending extended family chain migration, canceling the visa lottery and providing a permanent solution on DACA."

When asked if the framework will include citizenship for individuals who qualify for DACA, Sanders said the details will be announced Monday.

The framework, much like the tax reform framework before it, will be sent to Congress in order to be turned into legislation.

"After decades of inaction by Congress, it's time to work to solve this issue once and for all," Sander said. "The American people deserve no less."
