New Poll Has Trump Within Striking Distance in Virginia, Leads in Florida

Hillary Clinton only leads Donald Trump by 4 percentage points in Virginia, according to an Emerson College poll released on Tuesday.  This is the state’s first survey taken since FBI director James Comey announced he was reopening the criminal investigation into Clinton’s email server that was set up illegally.

Another stunning poll shows Trump leading by 1 point nationwide.  The same poll had Trump trailing by as much as 12 last week.

In another battleground state, New Hampshire, Trump has a slight lead over Clinton - 45 to 43 percent.

Overall, Clinton's support following news of the FBI's investigation has sharply declined.  By 53 to 43 percent, more Trump supporters say they are "very enthusiastic" about him, compared with Thursday and Friday when Trump's edge was only 53 to 51 percent.

Trump has also taken the outright lead in Florida, according to Real Clear Politics.
