Former president and CEO of Ford Motor Company Alan Mulally is meeting with Trump for a private discussion Thursday. A spokesman for the Trump transition team did not specify if Mullaly is being considered for a cabinet position.
Ironically, Mullaly was an executive vice president for Boeing before leading Ford – both companies the president-elect has lambasted in the past.
After leaving Boeing, Mullaly joined Ford Motor Company in 2006. He is well known for guiding the car company through the tumultuous times of the Great Recession. Unlike other major car manufacturers such as General Motors and Chrysler, Ford did not require a government bailout and Mullaly was able to return the company back into profitability. His leadership even inspired a novel.
Mullaly now sits on the board of directors for Google.
