Obama Makes Foolish Statement...

http://aconservativeedge.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/obama-warrior-muslim-garb1.jpg

Think of what would happen here if George W. Bush (remember he was supposed to be dumber than a rock when it came to anything) said the following: "if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

Problem is, it was said by our current President and it is as far from the truth as it can be. From Don Surber:
"The USA is not “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”

While President Obama is busy embracing his Muslim identity (see the Jake Tapper piece), he is telling outrageous whoppers about the United States and its Muslim roots.

“And one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” Obama told reporters.

With an estimated 5 million to 8 million Muslims, obviously he does not mean by percentage; Muslims are less than 3% of the U.S. population.

By sheer number, the United States is far behind Indonesia (213 million), Pakistan (156 million), Bangladesh (127 million) and so on. At least 23 nations have more Muslims.

The USA in fact has less than 1% of the world’s Muslim population of an estimated 1 billion people.

So why would a president make such an outrageous lie?

Because no one will fact check him.

Least of all the New York Times."

Perhaps the bigger problem here is the hypocrisy of Obama and his supporters. During the election, we could never say his given name that appears on his birth certificate...wait, we don't know because he won't show it to us despite his claim of being the most transparent President ever. So Barack Hussein Obama is now the flavor of the day because of his trip to the Middle East.

Then again, another lie we were told was that he would restore our standing outside the United States and the press would love him. Apparently David Harnden didn't get the memo:

"It is important to note that "if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world".

So says President Barack Obama. Or I should say: Barack Hussein Obama.

That's right: Barack Hussein Obama. Say it proud. Say it out loud. The middle moniker that dared not speak its name during the election campaign is now front and centre of the US president's attempt to woo the Muslim world, the theme of his visits to Riyadh on Wednesday and Cairo on Thursday.

Petrified of the potential political fallout of being branded a Muslim, Candidate Obama - a practicing Christian - never used the name "Hussein" and its use was frowned upon as a forbidden code for the nutty accusation that he was some kind of Islamic Manchurian candidate.

No more. To say Barack Hussein Obama - BHO for short - now appears to be the height of political correctness."

ABC's Jake Tapper picked up on this new embracing of the muslim faith by Obama:
"The other day we heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama's trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said "the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."

My how things change....
"Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president's roots. Especially when reaching out to the
Muslim world."
