Democrats Can’t Even Admit CA Elections Aren’t Secure, and That’s the Real Problem

Democrats cannot even admit that California’s elections are secure, and that is the biggest problem.

On Thursday, a reporter asked House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries about reports that homeless people in Los Angeles had been paid to vote for Democrats with cash or drugs. She asked if those reports changed his thoughts about election integrity, which Jeffries had previously said was not an issue in the Golden State. Rather than acknowledging the reports, or even clarifying that bribing individuals to vote is a form of election fraud, Jeffries immediately dismissed the claim as a “far-right conspiracy theory” meant to “try to convince the American people that there’s evidence of fraud in California.”

"Earlier in the week you told me that there is no election fraud happening in California and that anyone who questions the outcome of the election is a conspiracy theorist," a reporter said. "However, there are now homeless people on skid row admitting they were bribed with cash, drugs, other incentives to vote Democrat in elections. Does that change your stance at all on whether or not these elections are rigged?"

"Listen, I'm unfamiliar with those reports and I wouldn't be surprised if those are part of some far-right conspiracy theory being peddled on the internet to try to convince the American people that there's evidence of fraud in California," the House Minority Leader replied.

Well just in case it was unclear, here is video proof of homeless people in Los Angeles admitting to being bribed to vote.

Now, even if some people do not want to claim that Democrats were stealing the election, that is fine, but acknowledgment that the state needs to take better care to ensure election integrity is still warranted, especially from Democrats.

What we see from people like Rep. Jeffries is an unwillingness to admit there is a problem, because not only would it be damaging to the Democratic Party’s credibility, but it would also strengthen President Trump’s position, even if few people would go so far as to claim a whole election was “stolen.” In a state like California especially, many already expect Democrats to win most elections, even without fraud allegations. All Democrats need to do is maintain election integrity, and these claims go away. A Republican victory is not even required for any of this to occur.

The first step to fixing a problem is admitting that there is one, and as long as Democrats remain unwilling to do that, California elections will not become any more trustworthy.
