Trump Advisor 'Happy' WaPo Revealed He Was Spied On

Trump Advisor Carter Page was spied on by Obama's FBI last summer, The Washington Post revealed late Tuesday night. The FBI obtained a FISA warrant to keep tabs on Page, the editors explained, because they were suspicious of his having ties to Russia.

Page, after reading the WaPo report, said he was "happy" the news came to light, because it proves he was targeted because of his political preferences, he argued.

"There had been prior reports, but I was so happy to hear that further confirmation is now being revealed. It shows how low the Clinton/Obama regime went to destroy our democracy and suppress dissidents who did not fully support their failed foreign policy," Page said.

This new detail offers credence to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes's announcement last month that Obama intelligence officials spied on Trump's transition team. Trump, who had tweeted an unsubstantiated claim that he had been wiretapped by Obama, felt "somewhat vindicated" by Nunes' statement.

Trump and his advisors insist the media is missing the real scandal in the ongoing Russia investigation. The leaking of Americans' names is the real story, they say.

The congressional investigation into Russia's potential ties to the Trump campaign is ongoing, sans Nunes.
