Dems Stage Boycott Of Price, Mnuchin Confirmation Votes

The confirmation votes of Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) and Steven Mnuchin have hit a bit of a hiccup: namely, the Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee have decided to boycott the votes, meaning that they cannot proceed.

Price is the nominee for the head of the Department of Health and Human Services, and Mnuchin is the nominee to head the Treasury Dept.

At least one member of the Finance Committee, Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon, reneged on a promise to actually appear for the vote.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said that the votes would be rescheduled for later on Tuesday.
