House Passes Legislation To Provide A Pathway To Citizenship For DREAMers

The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019, by a vote of 237 to 187. The legislation provides a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens who were brought to the United States while they were young.

Every Democrat and seven Republicans voted in favor of the legislation, which now goes to the GOP-controlled Senate.

The White House has already said it would veto the legislation, should it pass the Senate.
