Jim Acosta White Knights for Jimmy Kimmel

The Left is in meltdown mode over the indefinite suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. ABC News announced the suspension yesterday, less than two days after Kimmel went on-air and said Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of conservative Charlie Kirk, was MAGA.

Here's exactly what Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

This was not a joke. This was not hyperbole. Kimmel -- knowing full well authorities in Utah had shared evidence that Robinson was a Leftist, pro-trans, and hated Charlie Kirk.

He lied for political gain and to smear Republicans and President Trump.

One of the many Leftists who came to Kimmel's defense is so-called journalist Jim Acosta:

The entire post reads:

Jimmy Kimmel deserves better than this. He’s a class act. Case in point - after my first appearance on his show back in 2018, he very thoughtfully asked whether I was receiving adequate security at that time, as Trump was repeatedly smearing journalists as “the enemy of the people,” comments that resulted in threats aimed at many of us in the White House Press Corps. I’ll never forget that moment of kindness from Jimmy. It spoke volumes. Make no mistake, our right to free speech is under attack in this country. This right must be defended as it is essential to the American way of life.

The most honest and accurate thing President Trump ever said was that the media are "the enemy of the people." Not only is trust in the media at an all-time low, but the past week has proven just how reprehensible the media actually are.

ABC News reporter Matt Gutman called texts between Robinson and his partner (texts in which Robinson admitted to the murder of Kirk) "very touching" and a "very intimate portrait" into their relationship. Gutman later apologized for his remarks, saying, "Yesterday I tried to underscore the jarring contrast between this cold blooded assassination of Charlie Kirk—a man who dedicated his life to public dialogue—and the personal, disturbing texts read aloud by the Utah County Attorney at the press conference."

For a brief moment in time, it seemed the media was going to push this sick star-crossed lovers narrative.

On September 15, CBS News anchor John Dickerson said Robinson's motives remained "elusive" and "not driven by an obvious political ideology." The next day, Dickerson was forced to admit on-air that Robinson was, in fact, a Leftist and that the "murder was committed because of Charlie Kirk's political views."

CNN panelists refused to believe the thousands of hateful social media posts that celebrated Kirk's murder. Thankfully, Scott Jennings helped educate them with a thread highlighting just some of those vile posts.

And CBS Morning host Nate Burleson asked former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy if Kirk's murder would drive Republicans to turn down the temperature on their rhetoric. Burleson didn't bother to ask Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) if he'd tone down his rhetoric after he called Charlie Kirk and his supporters "extremists" and "Nazis."

As to the claim Kimmel is a class act, well, let's see some of the other things Kimmel has said over the years.

He called for Roseanne Barr to be fired from her show.

He called Trump's supporters Nazis and the Klan, among other things.

And he mocked President Trump over his response to a question about Charlie Kirk.

Frankly, Jimmy Kimmel was classier when he watched girls jumping on trampolines.

And the media remains the enemy of the people.
