Former Vice President Joe Biden is probably regretting many comments that he made in his 40 plus years of being a career politician. But 2006, in particular, is coming back to bite him in his tookus. Yesterday, we covered how that year ahead of the 2008 election, he bragged that he could connect with Southern voters because Delaware was a slave state and also joked about wanting to fight for the confederacy. But then, CNN unearthed video from 2006 that showed the former Vice President at one point believed that abortion was not a "choice and a right" and it was "always a tragedy." For the left-wing quacks who have taken over the party, these statements are now the ultimate cardinal sin and it could doom his campaign prospects in the 2020 field.
As reported by CNN, Biden told the Texas Monthly, "I do not view abortion as a choice and a right. I think it’s always a tragedy...I think it should be rare and safe.
“I think we should be focusing on how to limit the number of abortions," he added.
At one point, Biden's remarks were the mainstream position in the Democratic Party. But flash-forward to 2019, and the base of the party has gone off the rails. Party up-and-comers have called for complete purges of pro-life Democrats. Governors have bragged which radical abortion law is more "progressive" based on which state allows up until the moment of birth and then some.But after years of hedging his bets on the matter by supporting policies like the Hyde Amendment, a law which bans federal dollars being used towards abortions, Ol' Uncle Joe has finally changed his tune to appease his colleagues. Apparently, he "don't know nothin" about abortion and had to be told what to think about the issue. Last week, after consulting with his campaign and other party members, Biden announced that he no longer supports the Hyde amendment. “If I believe healthcare is a right, as I do, I can longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s zip code,” he told the crowd in Atlanta.
So now Biden goes before the American people arguing that he is the only man with the principles, backbone, and moderate sensibility to defeat Trump, while at the same time caving on core issues in order to please progressives. What is more peculiar is that consistent polling of the American people show they disagree with the Democrats' desire for abortion-on-demand and think the procedure should be severely limited.

What changed? Somewhere along the way the left side of the aisle became dominated by socialist, sycophantic collectivist militants. It must be tough for Biden trying to wade his way through the new liberal waters. The man has been in the public eye for decades and spoken on dozens of issues now disavowed by the party that allowed him to rise to power. Nonetheless, Biden believes that he has a tabula rasa before the party electorate and his flip-flopping will not hurt him. Good luck with that, Joe.
