Dem Rep Admits Trump's Firing of U.S. Attorneys Was Routine

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) is no cheerleader for Trump (he called him "illegitimate" before his inauguration), but he admitted on Monday that the firing of attorneys from the previous administration is completely normal.

"There's nothing unusual about removing the former president's U.S. attorneys," he said on on CNN's "New Day."

Nadler's rationale, unsurprisingly, did have a caveat, telling the anchors that there was something unusual about how Trump fired the attorneys. Nadler's suspicions are shared by his colleague Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The Maryland representative suggested on Sunday that Trump fired the New York U.S. attorney Preet Bharara, because he was about to investigate Trump's suspicious financial dealings.

Bharara was one of 46 Obama-appointed U.S. attorneys asked to resign by the new administration.
