Cruz: Obama Did Nothing to Advance American Interests at UN

Instead of boosting American interests at the United Nations General Assembly this week as any commander-in-chief would be expected to do, President Obama chose to play the blame game and apologize for his country's aggressive nationalism. While promoting the need for a global economy, the president

lamented that America has too much money in politics, is too partisan and has a lack of citizen participation.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), for one, was disgusted.

“At the United Nations today, President Obama took to the podium to once again blame the United States for the woes of the world," Cruz said in a statement Tuesday. "He suggested our country is just one of many that need to get beyond the old divisions of nationality. He chided those who would limit the inflow of refugees from nations infiltrated by Islamic terrorists as ignorant bigots, predicted climate change would destroy countries and cause mass conflicts, and referred to Israel as an occupying power."

Instead of pointing out America is less than perfect, Obama should have "advanced an American agenda," Cruz said, by condemning the oppressive regimes in Russia and China and calling on our Arab allies to not be silent in the war against terrorism.

Instead of doing any of that, Obama warned against building walls and promoted his open borders refugee policy.
