WATCH: Steve Scalise's Emotional First Pitch at Nationals' Game

Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) threw the first pitch at Friday night's Washington Nationals' game against the Chicago Cubs, USA Today reported. This is the first game of their National League Division Series.

The Nationals made the announcement on Thursday, saying a "special guest" would be throwing the first pitch.

Capitol Police officer David Bailey,  Congressional aide Zachary Barth and lobbyist Matt Mika, all victims of the tragic shooting, were also a part of the pregame celebration. They delivered the lineup card.

This is the first major public appearance Scalise has made since the tragic shooting at Alexandria Little League field in June. Scalise sustained life-threatening injuries and underwent multiple surgeries.
