I’m still salty over the New York Giants’ loss this weekend, when everything went wrong across all three phases of the game against the New Orleans Saints. It is what it is with backup quarterback Jameis Winston, who dug the Giants into a hole they couldn’t get out of in the second half. It is what it is. The Giants remain atop the NFC East, with Dallas’ loss to Green Bay tonight, but the focus is on the Saints. Their next game is in Paris against the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Stade de France. They left after the Giants game and into a war zone.

In a statement, the NFL said:

“Preparations continue as scheduled for NFL events and the game at Stade de France next Sunday…We continue to work closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters. We are also providing the two clubs with regular updates. There’s been no disruption or impact at league sites.”

“We concur with the NFL’s statement and are planning to play the game. In addition to working closely with the NFL, we have also maintained daily security updates with our security partners in France,” said Saints senior VP of communications Greg Bensel. “Members of our football operations staff and internal security team have been on the ground in France for the past few days and there has been no disruption or impact at any of our team sites.”

Yeah, I don’t know about this. Will the riots get under control? We has a French president who gave a wild speech about the mayhem. And please, this isn’t about education anymore. Let’s hope law and order gets restored soon.
