Welcome back to another episode of "Unredacted"! I'm here talking to my neighbor, Kevin. He's a Texan who grew up in California. Kevin is interested in politics, but it isn't his whole life like it is for many of us. And you know what? He’s what I call a normie Republican. That’s the part the media never wants to talk about. The people fleeing California, New York, Illinois—they’re not the ones bringing the progressive nonsense with them. Those people are staying put, happy to keep voting for the same garbage that drove the property values down and the crime up. The ones hitting the road are the conservatives. They land in Texas, they see the lower taxes, the guns, the fact that you can still get a brisket without a sermon about climate justice, and they vote the same way they voted back home. Red. This brings us to this Senate race. Look, Ken Paxton’s got baggage. Everybody knows it. But James Talarico? Come on. The guy’s a walking left-wing fever dream—soft on guns, soft on crime, weird on the culture stuff, and the kind of seminarian who makes you wonder what seminary he went to. Normal Texans take one look at that and go “Nope.” They’ll hold their nose on Paxton’s issues because the alternative is crazy, and crazy loses when people are paying attention. Could Texas go blue? Sure, anything’s possible. They’d have to land an inside straight—perfect turnout in the cities, every single transplant voting left, the rural areas staying home, and the polls being right for once in their lives. I don’t see it.
