Russian Athletes Will Be Allowed To Compete in Rio

On Sunday, the IOC decided against a blanket ban of all athletes representing Russia in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio. Instead, each sport's federation will decide whether or not Russian athletes will be permitted to compete in that discipline at the games.

Anti-doping officials requested the full ban of Russian athletes after a massive, state-run doping ring was uncovered.

The track and field teams, which were banned

from the Olympics last month, still remain banned.

The Rio games begin on August 5 and will continue through August 21.
