West was returning from the “Free Texas Rally” in Austin when the accident took place.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard confirmed what West's staff stated. According to Howard, two motorcycles were headed north on I-35 near mile marker 353. A vehicle changed lanes and cut the two motorcycles off.

“The motorcyclist attempted to brake, and the rear motorcyclist crashed into the front motorcyclist,” Howard told the Waco Tribune-Harold.

Both West and the unidentified man he was riding with were transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

High-profile Republicans asked for the public to pray for West.
