That thing that never happens happened again. This time, in Germany, a man pretending to be a woman — and working as a police officer — raped a 14-year-old girl. Files containing "graphic scenes of violence against children as young as three" were also found on his computer.

According to The Daily Mail, he was charged with rape, abuse of minors, assault, distribution of pornographic material, and possession of child pornography.
But what's really sick is how some people dismissed the man's trans identity as mental illness in light of his crimes. This includes Culture Club singer Boy George, who said the former police officer was "ill."

It's literally Schrödinger's trans person. A trans person is to be believed and honored unless they commit a heinous crime; then they're mentally ill and really not trans.
But when women like me and Rowling point out that they're all mentally ill, we're attacked as transphobic TERFs.
Rowling also makes another point that shouldn't be ignored: this is a social experiment, and women and girls have no choice but to partake in it and hope they don't get hurt in the process.
And this is why we must take all trans-identified men at their word, because until he’s assaulted a girl in a locker room or filmed himself masturbating in a women’s bathroom, we can’t tell if he’s truly trans, and women and girls should be thrilled to take part in the experiment.

The people making these demands of women and girls aren't at risk, and it's unlikely the women and girls they love are at risk, too. It's other women and other girls who have to suffer through the rape, abuse, and trauma before the Left decides that "transwoman" is just a mentally ill man.
Women and girls did not agree to be victimized in order for our society to acknowledge the legitimacy of the concerns we've expressed for years. None of us has a crystal ball, and we do not know who will abuse access, authority, or public trust.
We have rightly expressed concerns about "trans-identifying men" being a danger to women, and now we're expected to surrender our boundaries and ignore our gut feelings to appease those same people.
And when we are inevitably victimized, the goal posts are shifted. The man we had to acknowledge was a woman is suddenly simply "mentally ill" and not "trans." Women and girls can no longer be expected to pay the price to uphold the trans activist narrative.
