On Friday, Judge William Sullivan, the Plymouth Superior Court judge presiding over the Lindsay Clancy case, officially declared a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict. It is my understanding that 11 jurors, for whatever reason, bought the insanity defense, and one brave soul wanted to rightly convict Clancy of murdering her three young children.
What happens next? Well, I hope the prosecution refiles the charges. But the damage has already been done. First and foremost, to the concept of justice. Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy deserved that. Their father, Patrick, did too. Especially after crazy women on TikTok had the audacity to say he was the "real" killer, when Clancy's own defense team never disputed the fact that she strangled those babies with an exercise band.
In a last-ditch effort, Clancy's attorney filed an emergency appeal with the Massachusetts high court, claiming the holdout juror was discriminating against Clancy, who had a mental illness, because that's a "protected class" under the Americans with Disabilities Act. What a fun new legal standard he tried to set, and what tremendous damage he did to the women's movement, despite being a so-called "feminist icon."

A significant number of liberal women have at least one diagnosed mental illness. Having such diagnoses can, and should, limit the types of employment you can have. We don't want someone who is mentally unstable being a surgeon or working with children, for example. But let's just think through the logical implications of what the defense and Lindsay's supporters are arguing here.
"We want the government to stay out of our medical decisions," the Left screams as they demand the "right" to kill their unborn children. Now that same disgusting mentality has crept into killing born children. Turns out that's happened a lot in recent months, too.

First, nearly 60 percent of Leftist women have at least one diagnosed mental illness. Now we're being told that absolves us of any wrongdoing, up to and including murdering our own children. How can we demand society treat us as equals and not threats? Millions of women drive cars, including those who have given birth to babies. If states started saying postpartum women couldn't drive (much in the same way those with seizure conditions are restricted), how could we argue against it? A 2,000-pound missile on wheels is even more dangerous than an exercise band in Clancy's hands. How could we go to an employer and ask for a job, or a raise, or a promotion, but argue we might go postal on our colleagues if our hormones are out of whack one day?
In about two months, everyone will start turning towards the 2028 presidential election and we'll be told how we have to elect a woman. How can we trust a woman with the nuclear football if she's liable to snap because she's PMSing?

Dear Liberal White Women PLEASE Stop being so completely STUPID.
This is actually the mentality of Islamists, who put toddlers in burqas so men aren't "tempted." But we'd all scoff (and rightly so) if an American man said he raped and murdered a woman because his testosterone was out of whack one day. He would go to prison or get the death penalty.
The mistrial does not erase what happened the Clancy house. Three children are still dead. One juror — a man, by the way — refused to pretend that strangling them with an exercise band was just another protected-class medical event. That is not “bias against mental illness.” That is the last remaining line between a society that treats women as moral agents and one that treats them as walking liability waivers.
If postpartum hormones, a diagnosis, or political identity can excuse the killing of born children, then the same logic will be used — already is being used — to excuse almost anything else. Employers, voters, and parents will notice. They already are. You cannot demand the nuclear codes, a scalpel, a classroom, or the benefit of the doubt while simultaneously arguing that your brain chemistry makes you unaccountable when it matters most. Nor can you demand even basic equality; that concept is not a slogan you get to keep after you have spent the week explaining why some murders should be given a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Justice for Cora, Dawson, and Callan still requires not only a verdict but a quick and dramatic shift in the cultural paradigm surrounding this case. Until then, the only thing this trial settled is that a large share of the people most loudly demanding power for women also want the lowest possible standard of responsibility when one of them snaps. That is not feminism. That's a threat.
