Amid the ongoing spat between the Trump administration and Canada's failed Prime Minister Mark Carney, people in America's Hat want us to know they're very angry with us. Here is where I think about the show "Rick and Morty," and the meme that makes the rounds on X every now and then: "Your boos mean nothing! I've seen what makes you cheer."
Americans are really underestimating the level of anger at them, here in Canada. It has turbocharged anti-American sentiment, and it's becoming more permanent by the minute.

Thanks to the abysmal leadership of Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney, Canada is now — as a nation — poorer than the state of Alabama, which ranks in the top 10 of the poorest U.S. states. That's not exactly something to brag about.
I'm going to wager a guess that outside of places like New York and Los Angeles, very few Americans care one iota about how Canada and the rest of the world see us.

On top of that, at least 100,000 Canadians travel to the U.S. and elsewhere for non-emergent medical care every year. That's because their government, in its benevolence, created such a disastrous "free" and "universal" healthcare system that Canadians literally have to travel the world to get timely and competent medical treatment.
If they don't, they're likely to fall victim to Canada's Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program. That program now kills more people per capita than there are gun deaths in America and Canada euthanizes more human beings than dogs. What started as a "compassionate" program for the terminally ill now sweeps up the mentally ill, the poor, those with eating disorders and other mental illnesses, as well as veterans. Glenn Beck brought a young Canadian woman to the U.S. for treatment for hyperparathyroidism — a perfectly treatable medical condition — because there were no endocrinologists who could see her.
But the Canuck Kavorkians were more than happy to end her life.
If America is so bad, why do millions of people try to come here every year and why do they fight tooth and nail to avoid being deported? We all know why. The destruction is the point.
Instead of working to improve their own country, Canadians — like many in the world — would rather see America knocked down a peg or two to their level. Recall how, during the summer, while Europeans were literally dying from heat, they refused to put air conditioning in their homes and offices lest they be like those icky Americans.
Dying to own the Yanks is a flex, I suppose.
Yet the entire narrative that America sucks was destroyed by the tourists who came here during the World Cup. Instead of experiencing the dystopian nightmare Canada wants us to be, those tourists found a warm, loving people living with abundance the rest of the world can only dream about. Freddy, the guy from Germany, went viral for his admiring and awe-inspired posts of the country. Especially the American South, which is supposed to be this bastion of bigoted rednecks but instead is home to some of the best people on the planet.
At the end of the day, this comes down to good old-fashioned jealousy. Canada can't be us, so they hate us. Heck, we even beat Canada in their own national sport, hockey, in the Olympics. Both the women's and men's U.S. teams took home the gold while the Canadians sulked and whined online about it.
And we shouldn't care. A nation that kills its own people or drives them to travel abroad for healthcare, which drove its economy into the ground, is not a country whose opinion we should care about. America is great, and Canada knows it.
