A week ago, I had no idea who Jason Arday was. Turned out he was the youngest black professor in the history of the University of Cambridge.
Emphasis on 'was.'
Arday resigned this week, just days ahead of the release of his autobiography, amid claims of plagiarism, academic fraud, and the wholesale fabrication of many aspects of his life. Even The Atlantic took a look at Arday.
This is wild. The Atlantic has obtained a copy of Jason Arday's book proposal. In it, he claims to have:

Some of the incredible claims made in Arday's book proposal include that he experienced "locked-in" syndrome for several months after being hit by a car. "Locked-in" syndrome is a rare neurological condition where a person is fully conscious but unable to speak or move their body. They can often communicate by blinking or moving their eyes. He also said he had testicular cancer, but that was changed to brain cancer in the book (and Arday said surgery to remove that tumor made him forget his dissertation, and he had to relearn it).
Arday also claimed he was beaten by a group of kids and asked the judge not to jail them. Two of those kids would later become his students, and Arday is the godfather to one of those students' children. That's a contradiction to the present-day Arday, who sicced the police on journalist Jack Grove, who was investigating the claims of plagiarism and fraud against Arday. The police investigated Grove for four months, a clear indication they were hoping to find some sort of crime. Unable to lock Grove up for ungoodthink journalism, the police told Grove not to contact Arday anymore because the investigation was harming Arday's mental health.
Arday also claimed he received several awards for which no proof exists online, said he ran 30 marathons in 35 days to raise money for charity, and that he had an aborted suicide attempt, deciding not to jump from a bridge after listening to an Eagles song.
To test how these stories sound to normies, I usually mention them to my mother. When I listed some of Arday's supposed history, she looked at me with the expression of a woman who knew it was all bulls**t.
That's funny, of course, because my mom is just a high school graduate and retired accountant. How did she know that Arday was lying but all the brilliant minds at the University of Cambridge and elsewhere didn't?
Because they're the real racists here, and claims to the contrary are all projection.

Arday wasn't a black scholar. He was a liar and a fabulist who has no degree in sociology. His BA is in Education and Physical Education (e.g. gym class). His PhD is in education, specifically peer-mentoring among students training to become ... gym teachers.
There is no "glee" on the Right over this, either. What there is, however, is more proof that DEI elevates the most incompetent, unqualified, and unsuitable candidates because of the color of their skin, so people like Prof. Kienzler here can check off boxes and tell the world they're definitely not racist.
Jacqui McKenzie, an immigration lawyer, signed the open letter supporting Arday, and took to X to complain that the media was asking her and the other signers tough questions.

"Jason was clearly hounded by people with an agenda, particularly ones with distasteful and discredited views on race. They in turn were fuelled by a ravenous media which thrives on people's downfall, and other nefarious commentators. But Jason's fate was sealed as the discussion moved from plagiarism and his scholarship, to his character, in a way we've not seen before. And there are plenty of accusations of plagiarism. Academia in the UK is overwhelmingly white so therefore faculty plagiarism is going to be overwhelmingly white. We read about these cases from time to time. I don't recall the sort of forensic examination of every facet of the protagonist's life as I've seen in this case. I don't recall the elderly parents of anyone being doorsteped," she wrote.
Arday proved he has no character. He lied about his cancer, he lied about his accolades. He used AI and plagiarized his academic work. A man of character doesn't do that. And instead of owning up to those lies, they're protecting Arday by playing the "racism" card.
Arday was also a terrible teacher and supervisor, according to the Telegraph.

Here's some of what students said about Arday (emphasis added):
One former MA student told The Telegraph: "Apart from one meeting throughout my whole course, he made a number of excuses not to meet with me or provide any substantive feedback on my work. As a supervisor, he was terrible."
"Any feedback that he did give was that my work was outstanding and that I didn't need [supervision]."
The student got a lower grade than they expected and appealed to the university on the grounds of poor supervision. The appeal was rejected.
Another of Prof. Arday's students was so dissatisfied with his supervision that they asked to change supervisor. For their trouble, they were accused of racism (though there is no suggestion the accusation came from Prof. Arday) but stuck to their guns and were given a new supervisor.
A third student, an undergraduate, complained to their director of studies about the standard of Prof. Arday's teaching in 2023, saying that scheduled hour-long sessions with him only lasted 20 minutes. An alternative supervisor was arranged for the student.
These reports go back years. I refuse to believe that Arday was the only black candidate for that position, and it's possible that Arday took the position from an actual qualified black candidate.
And here's the reality: Arday was a terrible professor because he lied about his accomplishments. He lied about his record. He lied about pretty much every aspect of his personal and professional life. But the supposedly intelligent academics who elevated Arday didn't pay attention to that. They saw a young, handsome black man they could elevate and use to pat themselves on the back.
They're the racist ones, and they set up Arday for failure.
