We are just past the first one hundred days of the Joseph R. Biden presidency, his so called “honeymoon” period where he was excused from many faux pas--his maladroit mistakes. The media, opposing political factions and the general public were inclined to give him a mulligan, a pass for on-the-job training slip-ups. This, even though Mr. Biden served as the Vice President for eight long years.
After the honeymoon is over, a rookie President (except for President 45 who hit the ground running fill-speed) will pack his/her bags and return from Niagara Falls, now amply accountable, and settle in to focus on approved ratings and delegate to his cabinet the job of running our nation. As Victor Davis Hanson has pointed out, the Biden gang are simply mocking our nation’s history.
This is, of course, a rather oblique assessment that will determine the speed of JRB’s progressive policy manipulations. Approaching eighty, Biden reminds us of the classic joke of a very old and feeble man who visits his physician on the eve of marriage to a beautiful, vibrant twenty-year old. His physician looks him over noting all his significant health issues and asks, “Aren’t you afraid consummating this marriage could be a dangerous, perhaps lethal risk?” The old man replies, “Well if she dies, she dies.” In Biden’s world, his incompetent honeymoon’s legislative intercourse threatens to screw us out of our republic.
Being a puppet president must be consuming work--so much agreeing and head nodding to a multitude of progressive agenda-driven special interests and it must be tiring, requiring lots of rest and frequent naps. Then there are all the difficult to pronounce names of world leaders, cabinet appointees, and diseases requiring a presidential version of “Hooked on Phonetics” to be loaded into all the teleprompters. Thank goodness he has a loving wife, Dr. Jill”, to help him through his blunders. Now after only after a century of days, President 46 is the target of concern among our international allies whose media espouse editorial-like comments expressing fear for the free world and making Biden fodder for international disrespect. You can only imagine the laughingstock we are tor China, the Soviet Union, Iran and all those oligarchs at Davos. And the old man said, “If she dies, she dies”.

The left plays a game we call, “The Liberal Limbo” while the President mumbles, “Come on…man!” It is similar to the party game Limbo where revelers drink to excess and are challenged to pass under a broomstick, hands free, without knocking it down. As the contestants are eliminated as the stick is repeatably knocked down, the finalists expertly bend over backwards to the extreme and slip under the stick inches off the floor, sometimes with a drink in one hand and cigarette in another. The Liberal version of Limbo requires we all slip under a barrier which reimagines our history, heroic heritage, culture and guaranteed constitutional rights as a free people. They have a check list and lower the bar as each woke setting is reached, forcing us to contort, plicating over backwards to slip under the newest standard, enduring the pain of passing through that narrow agenda-driven space. They are drunk with power and if we play their game, there may be no escape for any of us. Their goal is to prepare us for a different Limbo, the second circle of Hell here is America. The first was, of course, the eight years of Obama-Biden.
For these next two years, our flexibility and willpower will be tested as the economy processes and spits out the stimulus spending which likely will trigger out of control inflation with rocketing costs of housing, already in $100 billion motion, spending up to $174 billion to encourage Americans to switch to electric cars and trucks, and force Americans to purchase food and energy with a significantly weaker dollar. As Phil Gramm and Senator Rick Scott warned, “Wages and salaries are already significantly larger in the first quarter of 2021 than they were before the pandemic. Transfer payments have almost doubled, and personal savings have surged to an extraordinary $4.1 T from $1.6 T a year ago…on an annual basis the inflation rate for the past three months has been 7,2%...a rate not exceeded since June of 1982.”
It would appear now, our current socialist regime neither understands nor cares to understand basic economics because the more they push, the faster our national economy spirals toward collapse...not unlike during the Obama-Biden years. We recommend you invest in a wheelbarrow because you will need it to haul your cash to the 7-11 to buy your lottery tickets. The socialist agendas will extinguish hope with their micromanagement of your existence as they unrelentingly crush your inalienable rights. Jeremy Rivkin and James Taranto have argued that the Biden Administration is usurping our Constitutional rights by pushing that wearing face masks is our “…patriotic responsibility, for God’s sake,” Come on man! As a sovereign nation , that respected beacon of freedom , we might as well be dead. And the old man said, “If she dies, she dies.”
Here is the trap. Don’t blindly assume since the Biden ‘honeymoon’ is over, that the electorate (whatever that now means) will actually cast a critical eye leftward; they seem to have developed a blind spot that when under the light of examination reveals a serious woke myopia. As Paul Simon wrote in “The Boxer,” “Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.” Progressive feel-good agendas spout racist slogans while forwarding blurred accusations of white privilege; even when it is right in their face, the ideological myopic can’t recognize the truth. We have to prepare to say no! both directly at the ballot box and with every means available to us. If we do nothing, then we will have nothing. And the old man said, “If she dies, she dies.”
Founding father Benjamin Franklin was an eminent thinker whose commonsense approach to life and government is remembered in scores of famous quotations. Here are two we must never forget: “Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Also, “Where liberty is, there is my country.” He understood that the value of liberty was in our personal freedoms. How many now seek to destroy a nation Blessed by God? If the progressive left continues unchallenged and unresisted, our great republic might not survive their assassination attempt. Separate but equal will not protect her foundation when good men and women refuse to call out the current corruption. Her epithet might simply read “She died, silently surrounded by those who loved her.”
