Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008) is a familiar name to any educated person, though perhaps not a welcomed one in Leftist, communist circles. He was a Russian dissident, spent many years in a Soviet gulag, and wrote extensively about it. His three-volume The Gulag Archipelago is fascinating reading for anyone wanting an in-depth look at the horrors of communism. Solzhenitsyn did yeoman work in raising global awareness of the brutal Soviet regime, though his long-term effects on stopping Leftist ascendancy is problematic at best.
A quote from Solzhenitsyn, which, if a few words were changed here and there, could describe the Democratic Party of America today. Well, it does. The Left is the Left is the Left. Solzhenitsyn:
“You must understand, the leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred, they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. It cannot be overstated. Bolshevism committed the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant and uncaring about this enormous crime is proof that the global media is in the hands of the perpetrators.”
Read his last sentence again. Truer, more perceptive words, have rarely been written.
The Left is the Left is the Left. American Leftism, ideologically, has arisen from the same traditions and philosophies as Russian, Chinese, Cuban—any other Leftism in the world. A few thoughts on Solzhenitsyn’s words, and comparisons:
1. “You must understand, the leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians.” Are the Democrats really Americans? Well, unlike some of the major Bolshevik figures who actually weren’t Russian (though many were), the leaders of the Democratic Party today were born in the United States. But just being born in the USA doesn’t make a person an American. An “American” is an ideal, not just a birthplace. Being an American means you believe in freedom, opportunity, decency, hard work, virtue, and traditional Judeo-Christian values. It is all rooted in our history. This current crop of Democrats is no more American than Stalin was Russian. And just like Lenin, Stalin, et al hated Russians, the Democrats hate America and true Americans. They aren’t Americans, they are Marxist, Leftist, ideologues, which has nothing to do with traditional American ideals. They are trying to change America, not be Americans.

2. “They hate Christians.” Self-evident. Democrats hate Christianity and Christians. Passionately.
3. “Driven by ethnic hatred, they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse.” Abortion, anyone? Weaponization of the justice system? Arrest and persecution of those who oppose them? We don’t have a gulag—yet—in America, but does anyone question whether America’s Leftists want one?
Unlike in Russia, which had a virtually immediate revolution, the Leftist revolution in the United States, because of our peculiar republican system, has had to be dragged out over several decades. They have speeded things up under Biden, and if he is elected again next year, there is no question the process will accelerate. Look at what the Left in America is doing, and you can see that, over time, they are accomplishing what Lenin and his cohorts were able to do in a very compact period. And can anyone see an ounce of remorse in American Leftists over the unborn they have slaughtered or the children they have mutilated? But the Democratic Party’s coalition is nothing but the tools they use to advance to supreme, autocratic power. Once they reach that pinnacle, then, just like in the Soviet Union, Communist China, etc., they will destroy those who were their most fervent supporters. The revolution will eat its own. It always does. Peasant ideologues can never be trusted, they might decide they want power. The Left is the Left is the Left.
4. “It cannot be overstated. Bolshevism committed the greatest human slaughter of all time.” At one time, this was true, and one understands Solzhenitsyn’s perspective and feelings. But Mao Zedong, the Communist Chinese thug, is actually the greatest mass murderer in human history. He killed millions more than even Stalin and Hitler. And, of course, the CCP still rules in China, is still killing millions, and is still intent on dominating as much of the globe as possible. And the Leftists in America, including and especially Joe Biden, are perpetuating that. The Left is the Left is the Left.
5. “The fact that most of the world is ignorant and uncaring about this enormous crime is proof that the global media is in the hands of the perpetrators.” This is an absolutely brilliant statement and explains why the Left is winning. Leftists control the “global media,” as well as academia, that is, all the avenues of communication and education. The masses hear only what the Left wants them to hear, and a person has to really care, and really dig, to find the truth. Most people don’t have the time, or the concern, to do that. They go merrily on their way, trusting that all things will continue as they are now, their lives won’t really be affected much, and that America will always be there to protect and provide for them. Being utterly ignorant of history, most Americans haven’t a clue what the Democratic Party is doing to the country. And since the Democrats control the media, academia, and most other sources of information that people hear or read, Americans aren’t going to learn the truth. Until it is too late. And then it will be too late.
The Left is the Left is the Left. What Solzhenitsyn described in Soviet Russia is creeping, and more rapidly, into the United States. American Leftists aren’t Americans. They hate America. They are globalist, Leftist ideologues, with all the lying, cheating, stealing, persecution, and slaughter that entails.
The storm continues to brew in America, and we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
