Biography
Jay Prag is a Clinical Professor at the Masatoshi Ito and Peter F. Drucker School of Management where he has taught since 1986. He previously taught at Harvey Mudd College, Claremont McKenna College and Pomona College. He also taught Corporate Finance as a corporate trainer at Edison International for seven years.
Professor Prag has won thirty teaching awards in his years at the Claremont Colleges. He also served as Academic Director for the Executive MBA and the Financial Engineering Programs at the Drucker School.
He serves on the Board of Directors and is Vice Chair of LINC Housing, a nonprofit low-income housing developer in Long Beach. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Mt. San Antonio Gardens in Claremont and was actively involved in and served on the Board of several business start-ups.
Professor Prag co-wrote the books Financial Management for Executives, Macroeconomic Essentials: Understanding Economics in the News (4th Edition), and Microeconomic Essential: Understanding Economics in the News (1st Edition forthcoming Fall 2020) as well as several journal articles and individual book chapters. He also published a monthly column in the Los Angeles Newspaper Group newspapers for many years.
He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester (1988), an MA in Economics (1981) and a Bachelors in Business Administration (1979) from the University of Florida.
