Distracted Joe Biden Is Not Good For America

I am not that concerned with exploring what has "happened." I am more concerned with exploring what is "happening." I would instead prepare for 2024 and beyond than relive 2020.

I am more concerned with the actions of an influential person who can affect my life greatly than a powerless person who cannot. Therein, for me, lies the difference between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

A distracted president can be a problem for America and the world. Today we have two Bidens with special counsels and one for Trump, along with four indictments. All unprecedented. The good judgment of a sitting president is critical.

I will always profess that the worst crimes are the ones where people make money wrongfully - off the backs of society and/or where their actions directly harm Americans, our allies, or the innocent. Maybe that is why polls show that the unfolding Trump dramas do not phase most Republicans.

Also, no one is claiming Trump made money from the actions he has been accused of. He wanted to win an election. We get it. But we can boast that our election process worked. He failed.

When something could have happened, should have happened, or would have happened, it is not that significant. Most importantly, Trump has no power. He could, he might, he should, but today, he has no power to affect the United States or the world. Biden does have the power, but with these countless distractions, that concern grows.

Trump and his allies seem to emulate the Rutherford Hayes vs. Samuel Tilden 1876 presidential election. It resulted in New York Democrat Tilden being sold out by southern Democrats, even though Tilden won the popular vote. But due to the Compromise of 1877, months after the election, Tilden lost the electoral college election by one vote.

It featured an alternative group of electoral college delegates and claims of fraud. Common factors - Tilden was hurt by southern Democrats who wanted to end Reconstruction and embark upon the practice of Jim Crow (segregation). Trump was hurt by the "Never Trump" Republicans who did nothing to help him, with some even fanning the flames of his destruction.

Even the porn star incident was done to help Trump win an election. And the entire 2020 election matter was all done in an attempt to help Trump win an election that he lost.

On the other hand, thanks to Rep. James Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan's efforts on their committees, we are learning that business leaders from China, Russia, and Ukraine have all made considerable payments to the Biden family for services yet to be disclosed other than general "consulting" fees. We all anxiously await how the Bidens could bring such value to those countries that it may eclipse 20 million dollars in payments, as reported.

If the Biden family has a problem, we as a nation have a problem. Here are examples of my concern:

When asked an innocuous political softball question about the fires and deaths of Americans in Hawaii, a vacationing Biden - on a beach while America was experiencing possibly the worst disaster of its kind in history - mishandled the question. He responded, "No comment." Days later, the media gave Biden a mulligan and he gave a coherent response.

But the president had a rough week. Yes. It is known as being distracted.

Then the Biden administration pandered to the public by rightfully seeking to get five Americans out of an Iranian prison, but in return, the release of six billion dollars in previously sanctioned funds, is questionable. We would not only be setting a record by making it the most expensive hostage-like payment in history, but we would be making it to a country that hates America and our only true friend in the region, Israel, more than any country on the planet.

To add insult to injury, Biden wants us to believe that it will not help Iran marshal forces against the United States or our allies. Yet, Iranian money used for medical expenses will no longer be needed when they get the six billion dollars. They can merely shift the dollars they were paying for healthcare to warfare. (Further negotiations are pending).

Recently 11 Chinese and Russian warships were caught racing toward the coast of Alaska. We defended our coast with four warships. Cries came immediately from Alaska's two senators for the Biden administration to do more as it was a clear and present danger to America.

What would leaders like former Presidents Ronald Reagan or George H.W. Bush have done? They would have had four stealth B-2 bombers equipped with nuclear weapons "magically" appearing over the Russians' heads, giving them five minutes to turn around or risk total destruction.

Distracted Biden has allowed us to be bullied by the Chinese and Russians repeatedly. Show Russia and China a glimpse of our superior military equipment as it would function as a true deterrent. Peace through strength.

Biden's personal family problems are America's problem because he is the president of the United States. It is a distraction.

I pray that the smoke revealed by the Congressional committees does not reveal a fire (excuse the unintended pun). Americans deserve the truth, however. If the Biden family and President Biden know that it is all or even partially true, Biden should spare the American people more trauma.

The Trump saga will likely play out by way of jury decisions affecting only those involved. While distractions for a sitting president can be dangerous and unhealthy for America and the free world as we rely on a president's sound judgment for our well-being.
