My God, he was a horrible President. In fact, the only thing worse than his presidency was him as a person. While I could be speaking of any Democrat, in this case I’m talking about Barack Obama. But to hear Democrats talk about the man you’d think he’s unable to take a bath because he can’t sink in water, only being capable of walking on it. They simply can’t quit him.
Granted, the alternative would be to hype and suck up to Joe Biden, and that’s nearly impossible, but still.
It actually says a lot about a political party that they get more excited about a former leader than their current one, doesn’t it?
The obsession with Obama is about image and the left’s love of identity politics. They’re trained like circus seals to pretend an irrelevant characteristic of a person is somehow an accomplishment…unless that person is a conservative, then they’re some kind of sell-out.
“As President, Obama led our country with science, courage, and integrity,” opens one of many fundraising emails this week. “He passed the biggest healthcare expansion of the past 50 years, joined the historic Paris Climate Agreement, and spearheaded our nation’s recovery after the worst economic crisis in decades.”
If you couldn’t guess, it was Obama’s birthday this week, and every nutjob on the left used that to get into the wallets of weak-willed people with no standards.
One from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee opens, “President Obama’s birthday is in a few days -- and we’re asking 25,000 of our best supporters to sign our card for him! We want to show how grateful we are for President Obama's leadership and incredible legacy. So, before his birthday on the 4th, can you sign our card wishing President Obama a very Happy Birthday??”
Of course, the only way to “sign the card” is to give them money. Oh, and there is no card. It’s all a lie.
Confusingly, the DCCC sent another email with the subject line, “Bend Wishes Obama Happy Birthday!” What that means I have no idea. Even if it were “sent” and not “bend,” the rest of it makes no sense. It doesn’t get any better in the body. “It’s almost President Obama’s Birthday, and you haven't signed his card yet, Derek! Won't you sign your name before it's too late!? Derek, President Obama’s birthday is just around the corner, and we can’t help but reflect on all the INCREDIBLE things he’s done for our Party and the country! We’re asking 16,400 more supporters to sign President Obama’s card before his birthday tomorrow. Will you sign your name NOW?”
No, I won’t.
Later that same day, the DCCC sent another one asking, “Did you get a chance to sign our card yet?” Yes, I’ve had lots of chances…I just have no interest in it. “We’re sending him a card FULL of birthday wishes from loyal Democrats nationwide, and we want YOU to sign it too! President Obama has such a strong legacy, and now more than ever, it’s important for Democrats to show we're grateful for him and committed to defending his hard work.”
Hard pass.
As if the half dozen or so other chances the DCCC “gave” people throughout the week weren’t enough, they sent three emails in 24 hours, the morning of Obama’s birthday they went fishing for wallets one last time.
Their final pitch opened, “today is President Obama’s BIRTHDAY! We asked our top supporters from Oregon to sign our beloved President’s card and thank him for all he has done for us -- but we noticed that your name is STILL missing!” And it will be forever.
It concludes, “We’re spending today expressing our gratitude for President Obama and all of the AMAZING things he has done for our country. Derek, before President Obama blows out his candles -- sign our card and send him a heartfelt Happy Birthday!”
Yeah, no. I passed on the “last chance,” which, when you click the link, asks for your name and phone number. If you leave it all blank, thereby NOT doing what they claim to be the point of the email, it still takes you to the credit card page to make a donation.
Barack Obama can have a happy birthday or a horrible one, I couldn’t care less. He can just do whatever without me. Unlike Democrats still milking the “memory” of him, I do remember him and can easily quit what I never started.
