Gilded Reframe – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Ah, so NOW you are the diligent monitors of presidential health.

Brian Stelter has become so regular at the rake-stepping of late, you have to wonder if it is intentional. For his latest, he highlights a recent report from The New York Times, where the paper declares it will not shy away from keeping close tabs on President Trump's health. That this is a directly contradictory position the outlet took on Joe Biden was something we had to remind Brian Stelter about. That would be the same Brian Stelter who last summer attempted to deny videos showing Biden's mental decline.

Reporting on the Mirror – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Striving to be more inconsequential than the Pulitzers is certainly a goal.

The announcement for this year's winners of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism was made. This is awarded by the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Among the names are Scott Pelley of CBS News, Peter Alexander of NBC News, and Jon Stewart, who will receive an award in the newly created "Comedic News and Commentary" category. Another honoree will be Rachel Maddow, and when you see the description given by the school for its selections, it becomes even funnier.

“The message sent by honoring these winners is that the press isn’t ‘the enemy of the people’ – it’s the firewall between the public and disinformation, abuse of power and corruption.”

A firewall against disinformation, you say, and you are giving Maddow a trophy?! Curious how you decided who would be honored without having seen their broadcasts.

First Amendment Strike Force – SWEDEN

  • Yep, that JD Vance was way off in describing European censorship.

We are not sure how it is that the press can, in one instance, decry supposed censorship taking place, and yet when faced with governing bodies enforcing strict censorship, there is little outcry from those same outlets.

Our press loved dogpiling on Vice President Vance when he dared call out European leaders for trampling on free expression. Yet – and probably for that very reason – they have little to say about a man who was placed in prison in Switzerland for posting a relatively innocuous post about men and women.

Newseum Art Installation – VOX

  • This mirror image of reality is not quite holding up a mirror.

We want to say Vox tried to recast the insurance system fiasco, but it does not look like they made any effort in just saying, "It's THEIR fault!"

Regardless, it is a thing of beauty to behold.
