Race to the Bottom – CNN

  • The press seems extremely mad at having to report on this murder.

The media continue to contort and manipulate the story from North Carolina of a Ukrainian female murdered by a black male on camera on board a commuter rail line. What has been clear is that this homicide runs contrary to numerous narratives in the press; it defies racial preferences, cannot be chalked up to guns, runs into the current claims of low crime rates, and concerns a recidivist with more than a dozen serious crimes being set free – just to name some of the problems.

One blatant way we see that this is a story the press does not want to touch is in something Matt Vespa noted here this morning, that this murder took place in late August and is only now becoming a news item because the press has all but been forced to cover it.

Brian Stelter does his deflecting worst by trying to steer the discussion onto those on the right who have dared to notice this crime, and gets extremely agitated when called out by Tim Graham of NewsBusters for his stunted position on this crime.

Recall when Daniel Penny was charged with killing a man whom he stopped from assaulting people on a subway, the press was full of the racial charges. Now, when a man murders a woman unprovoked and is heard making racial comments after the attack, the only racism Stelter can manage to find is from comments he mined from social media.

Pounce of Prevention – POLITICO

  • There go those damned conservatives, noticing again!

Politico also arrives to deliver stunted reasoning on this train murder. You can get a sense of how little they want to report on this attack by delivering this desperate deflection – and turning the job over to an intern in the process.

What we get served is a rant blaming Trump and conservatives for daring to make this into a political issue. Good thing we never see the press turning other killings into activist narratives, such as gun control, racial strife, violent rhetoric, political policy, etc.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – CBS NEWS

  • When you generate a scandal, and nobody cares.

The desperation in this report is quite evident. For reasons that defy his job title as Justice Correspondent: D.C., Scott MacFarlane delivers this gripping report about a small-market radio station on the west coast of Florida. It is seen that the station is promoting itself as “Trump Country,” with images of the president in a Stetson and everything!

If you are wondering what specifically the storyline is here for Scotty-Mac to deliver, so are we. The best guess is that he is striving to make use of Trump’s imagery controversial by saying the station manager boasted that he did this without asking for permission. MacFarlane still went with this report even though, when contacted, the White House responded that it had nothing to say on the matter, and the effort to turn to the Florida Democratic Party for comment was also met with a shrug.

Also lost on the reporter was that the station has been running this promotion since March with no pushback.

Pre-Written Field Reports – MSNBC

  • Any time now, the press will stop inviting Homan on their shows.

Pity poor Mika Brzezinski, who went head-to-head with Border Czar Tom Homan and was decimated by the man who delivered unwavering facts. After haggling over details of ICE agents stationed in a church parking lot, Mika thought she had Homan pinned down with a line of questioning rooted in nothing but feelings and emotion.

Watch her as Homan unspools a series of facts about who they are apprehending, as Mika gets angry, flustered, and combative, as he is having none of her baseless pleas.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE BULLWARK

  • The convenient thing is that you do not need any proof when impugning the character of a justice.

Sam Stein is here to provide us with an update on how Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is a racist. Stein, referencing a recent decision SCOTUS rendered on immigration issues, states flatly that Kavanaugh was defending racial profiling.

Funny thing, he does not provide any quotes from Kavanaugh’s opinion. Instead, Sammy gives us an excerpt from an article – with no link – that also provides no quotes from the justice, save for the words “common sense,” and the interpretation of what that would mean. So it was incumbent on others (who were not prone to believe Sam) to seek out the actual opinion.

It is then seen that, in fact, Justice Kavanaugh said the polar opposite of what Sam Stein insisted.
