Prose & Contradiction – CNN

  • Yes, the experts who know spoke on the matter, but the public hysteria is a more important factor.

The overreaction to the announced cancellation of Stephen Colbert (in about a year, you hysterics) continues, and CNN’s media expert is of course weighing in on the matter. Brian Stelter has been promoting the canard that this decision was somehow provoked by President Trump - absent any kind of tangible proof - but the biggest problem for all those who are desperate for this narrative is the reported fact that his show has been losing $40 million a year. His healthy contract ($15 million annual) and a staff of hundreds leads to the massive loss for the network.

Brian in his newsletter even cited an interview with those inside the network who confirmed it was a decision made on finances and not politics, but Stelter still wants to disregard the facts and lean on the perceived outrage as the important component. Almost sounds like that misinformation he and others in the press are constantly harping about.

BlueAnon – MSNBC

  • A comedian losing a gig is…an attack on…the Constitution…?

Joining in on the imbalanced bandwagon was Chris Hayes, who had a decidedly emotional approach to Colbert’s cancellation. Apparently comedians being criticized threatens our national foundations (I’m recalling Tony Hinchcliffe being smoked after a Trump rally) and therefore no other comics can come under the duress of a show being cancelled.

Hardest Hitting News – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • Do Native Americans have smaller radios?

One of the ongoing arguments made regarding the pulling of funding for public broadcasters has been the claim that people in rural communities will suffer greatly. This has been its own version of this category, but then we found one NPR program arguing to maintain their federal payouts and declaring it is needed because if they go off the air Native American and African American communities will be hardest hit.

Pre-Written Field Reports – NBC NEWS

  • Now, if they are basically the same, why the need for your disqualifying report?

As another prime example of the press opposing something for the simple fact that Trump mentioned it, NBC News comes out with this check on a recent Trump announcement. The President impressed people last week when he came out to state that Coca-Cola has decided to revert to an original formula using cane sugar in its soda as opposed to corn syrup.

As a result the network saw a need to coral some “experts” to come out and declare that the switch is not really needed and will not amount to a significant change.

News Avoidance Syndrome – THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

  • No one else doing so is culpable of something.

Adding to the dysfunction of the Wall Street Journal Jeffrey Epstein scandal report last week of President Trump allegedly writing a birthday letter over 20 years ago, a report from The Daily Mail showed there were a number of other prominent names who also wrote gushing notes to the controversial figure.

Somehow the Journal did not see a need to mention these other names, including Bill Clinton.

DNC PR Firm – CBS NEWS

  • Allow her to become the lone voice of obedient opposition.

As Tulsi Gabbard is releasing pertinent documents concerning the machinations behind the Russian collusion fiasco some in the press have been impressed by the facts exposed. Except for Margaret Brennan.

On “Face The Nation” Brennan brought on Democrat Jim Himes for the two of them to completely disavow any import in the exposed documents. Maggie bravely went down this path, even as Gabbard was also stating she is gathering up whistleblowers from that era willing to expose more details. But give the Sunday pundit credit for adhering to the approved narrative.

Reporting on the Mirror – WASHINGTON POST

  • Is this his loss, or their gain?

Jonathan Capehart has come out to announce that he will be leaving the Washington Post. Capehart has accepted the buyout that was recently offered to staffers unwilling to comport to the paper’s new editorial standards.

This has been presented as harsh news by some in the press, which means you have to resort to hearing from Jonathan on MSNBC. And PBS. And…
