Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC

  • Calling him wrong while proving him correct is a grand look.

In looking back on the No King Day protest in Florida, Rachel Maddow took a curious focus on Brevard County. This was where the sheriff last week came out with a press conference warning against violent uprisings in the area.

Many in the press and on the left were outraged when he declared if you were to begin rioting and attack law enforcement, your family would likely be notified where to collect your body.

Maddow ran clips of protesters in the area and declared it a rebuke against the sheriff she said wanted to shoot people for protesting. Not only did she blatantly mangle his words but there were signs that the message sent by him and Governor DeSantis got out. Watch here as you see people protesting in the street, but doing so based on the traffic signals – they clear the roadway as the lights change, knowing getting mowed down would not be considered criminal behavior in the state.

News Avoidance Syndrome – CNN

  • We all know who is responsible, so no need to mention it.

Recently, the Washington Post was revealed to be on the receiving end of a cyber attack, where hackers targeted the email accounts of a select group of reporters. There was little mystery that the Chi-Coms were behind this effort, as the story was broken by The Wall Street Journal, which encountered an identical hacking attempt by China just a few years ago.

However, in its coverage of the matter, CNN looked to be very careful not to come out and anger China by directly implicating the nation, but merely giving allusions to the WSJ hack in a very careful wink-wink fashion.

Legalized Press-titution – MINNESOTA STAR TRIBUNE

  • You REALLY thought this was a glorious point to make?

At a recent hearing on The Hill, a number of governors were speaking in relation to sanctuary city/state regions, in light of the deportations and ICE controversies. When onetime hopeful Tim Walz was speaking, he was notably seen with three bottles of soft drinks beside his microphone. This was, we have to guess, somehow newsworthy.

At least that was the impression left by the fawning local paper covering the appearance of Walz in D.C.

Demo-lition Project – (Formerly) ABC NEWS

  • Well, that is a good way to show they were justified in tossing you overboard.

Last week, Terry Moran was dismissed from his Senior Correspondent role at ABC News after he posted a moderately unhinged screed slamming White House figure Stephen Miller. Now, freed of responsibility, Moran has predictably become ensconced at Substack, and in pimping himself on that platform he spoke with Tim Miller of The Bulwark. Yes, it went about as off the rails as expected.

He tries to still claim reporters are objective, then calls out Stephen Miller for his venom, and decrees Trump is waging a terror campaign. This is Moran spending over a week of spitting out bile and contempt in claiming Miller and Trump are filed with bile and contempt.

Race to the Bottom – LOS ANGELES TIMES

  • Okay, we’ll admit – we are not sure how he self-identifies.

The Alex Padilla 15 minutes is ticking off its closing seconds, but not without the Los Angeles Times straining to make everything possible to use him for political hits on the right. In this instance, the paper once again tries stoking the racial fires but manages to fall face-first into its burrito.

The attempt to criminalize Padilla in the eyes of MAGA is laughable – and pathetic – mainly because he is an American.
