Both Kinds of Standards – CBS NEWS
Trending very close to a "Mostly Peaceful Riot."
Scott MacFarlane is known primarily for two things: Having a majestic, stentorian voice and for being remarkably focused on the January 6 riot. He is so particularly attached to that story that he somehow found a connection to Kamala Harris when she was announced as the new Democratic Party leader.
With this in mind, it was lame to see Scott covering the riots that occurred in D.C. with the visit of Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu – well, sort of covering. He gave a few seconds to the protest, but no significant highlighting of the violence and vandalism that took place. Not a word of condemnation and calls for justice against these threats to the nation’s capital, as seen from his perpetual J6 focus.
Can't watch CBS's Scott MacFarlane report on protests without thinking of his constant demonization of January 6. Today, he showed protesters burning the US flag, and used the adjective "raucous" (also on screen). Scott also highlighted Tlaib and @AOC. How helpful. pic.twitter.com/L2K3wEtoQL

Legalized Press-titution – CBS NEWS
Nomination for the most cringey-creepy Biden coverage.
There was finally a proof-of-life video from Joe Biden, as he gave an Oval Office address concerning his stepping away from the 2024 election. It was an odd address with a series of lies, obtuse comments, and a disturbing delivery. Don’t tell this to Robert Costa.

He came out following the speech with possibly one of the most slavish, slobbering comments about Biden’s performance.
A powerful photo. The hand toward his father’s face. The eyes. Put aside politics and everything related for a moment, and viewed simply on a human level, you see two men, father and son, still at each other’s side, more than a half-century since the darkness of Dec. 18, 1972. pic.twitter.com/36DcS8rFgs

Stealth Story Evolution – POLITICO
Committing journalism after publication.
There was a flare-up across the media landscape as a result of a segment on "Fox & Friends" where Brian Kilmeade was accused of a racial slight on the air. He was discussing Kamala Harris not making much in the way of major speeches. He commented on how she was going to speak at a university, mentioning that she would be addressing "a sorority – a college sorority."
There was an uprising from several POC accounts on social media and some articles because it was heard by some that Kilmeade said "colored sorority," so charges of racism flew freely. Eugene Daniels of Politico was one of those, and he later gave a follow-up where he stated he reached out to Fox News for comment and was corrected on the matter.
I spoke to Fox News about this and plan on speaking to Brian when he is off air. They've made clear to me that he used college, not colored.

The audio is garbled but I am going to take Brian and his team at their word. pic.twitter.com/PNNV15xbfe
Understand that Daniels is the new President of the White House Correspondents Association, and this is the level of journalism he exhibits, reaching out for comment after he has already pushed out a slanderous charge.
Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Credit to these outlets for not delivering "Slay Queen!" content.
There's a collective effort in the press to insist that Kamala Harris was never the Border Czar. But on the opposite side of the ledger, we see the unvarnished glee from numerous outlets who are swooning over the fact she has taken on a persona from the British pop star Charli XCX, referring to herself with “Brat” as her moniker, and using the same green-colored background.
It is one thing to note this, but the sweeping coverage of her brat marketing scheme is something else entirely. Many outlets shamed themselves when they fell in line with the rapturous coverage of the "Kamala-Brat" theme – everyone from CNN, the BBC, ABC News, The Hill, CBS News, USA Today, and many others all got in on the squee-fest, sounding like Taylor Swift fans in line for the concert venue to open.
What is going on with Kamala Harris and Charli XCX?

It looks like Kamala Harris, the US Vice President has launched her presidential campaign with a Charli XCX inspired 'BRAT' theme

Pounce of Prevention – POLITICO
This was written as if it were an insult to protect the flag.
Covering those riots regarding the Netanyahu appearance, Anthony Adragna looked over the scenes and the reaction and came to the logical conclusion – that Republicans are talking about the attacks on the USA!
Republicans seized immediately on images of burning U.S. flags and vandalism at Washington, D.C.'s Union Station following Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech as evidence of widespread antisemitism and a harbinger of what can happen under Democratic control of government.
Quite a bit to unravel in just that sentence. The implication that it is an extreme position to oppose these actions is precious. The hint that antisemitism has not been widespread is desperate, and we are currently under a Democrat-run government, Anthony, and antisemitism has already exploded in the country.
We also do not think he realizes that by lapsing into this "seized" narrative he carries the implication that Democrats are cheering on the burning of the flag and support for Hamas.
