How DARE Democrats derail the narrative used to support…the Democrats!
In what can only be described as sweet irony, Tim Miller became rather dismayed on his podcast at The Bulwark over something his guest Ezra Klein told him. In discussing the current shakeout of the election, post-debate debacle, Klein told Miller that he was hearing something revealing from top Democrats on the Hill: They don't actually believe the talking point that Trump will usher in the end of our democracy.
This had a noticeable effect on Miller considering that the apocalyptic messaging about democracy, our elections, and our basic rights all going away if Trump wins has been the foundation of his opposition, as well as that of The Bulwark, and the network where Miller frequently makes guest appearances, MSNBC.
That sound you heard was the narrative being blasted into confetti.

Not only will it try to boost the sliding fortunes of President Silver Alert with an exclusive interview conducted by Lester Holt, but it is also will broadcast it at 9:00 pm Monday, during the opening of the Republican National Convention.

It is turning out for job security that the best advice is to not deal with the administration at all!
There continues to be more fallout from the Joe Biden radio interviews he conducted shortly after the debate. We covered early this week how two interviews with black radio hosts were made with questions supplied by the Biden camp, leading to one female radio journalist losing her job. The other interview, with Earl Ingram, saw the Milwaukee host asking nearly the same questions, and now more coordination with the White House has been revealed.
Local paper the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that along with the scripted nature, the Biden interview was recorded, and the Biden team had the access to request that certain portions of the discussion be edited to remove potentially controversial elements. The station obliged the requests and struck those segments from the interview.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MEDIAITE
As Sarah covered here, the news industry correspondents over at Mediaite behaved in the very fashion they are generally prone to report on taking place in the press. It is rather clear they do not care for Senator J.D. Vance, and the prospect of him rising to become Trump's vice presidential choice bothers them. But in an attempted hit piece, they crossed the line of becoming the very problem in the press.
The site's Colby Hall first claims to have "unearthed" a scathing quote by Vance. (It is actually from an episode of "Hardball," which is fully accessible on the network's website.) Additionally, it is an eight-year-old interview, so the relevance today is questionable.
But the headline, as Hall goes on to say, claims Vance said he believes the woman accusing Trump of sexual abuse, yet his actual quote is markedly different:
It makes me think that at fundamental, this is sort of he said/she said, right? And at the end of the day, do you believe Donald Trump who always tells the truth? Just kidding, or do you believe that woman on the tape?

You truly get a feel for how obligated the public broadcast outlet National Public Radio actually feels they are to one party with this bemused reaction to the administration not rewarding the outlet with more attention. In responding to an environmental account, NPR's climate correspondent Jeff Brady expressed surprise/disappointment/heartbreak (circle all that may apply) when they ran a fluffer piece on Joe Biden's wondrous environmental record. Yet, despite the supplicant overtures made by the unbiased and non-partisan network, they were not offered any administration mouthpiece from which to quote.

You have to savor when the press rushes headlong into their default charges of "racism!" without granting a moment of thought to their emotional outburst. Wajahat Ali looks at the Democrats who are questioning Joe Biden's consciousness and he came to the extremely lazy conclusion this was all the result of whites getting snippy.
Seriously – how the hell do you go to a race-based analysis when looking over who is involved?!
For one, how exactly are you charging racism when it is allegedly white men calling for the resignation of…a white man? But taking this stunted reaction to lower levels of idiocy, Ali does not even factor in that calling for his removal means that you open the door for a minority woman to rise to the top of the ticket.
In other words, if anyone is being racist here, it is anyone pushing to keep the white guy in power – like Wajahat Ali.
