Pathological Media Amnesia – MSNBC

  • Joe Scarborough delivers praise for Gen. Milley's subjugation of the chain of command.

The media is all aflutter as there is a new Bob Woodward book release, and they are taking all of the elements contained therein as gospel. In his latest, "Peril," Woodward delivers some troubling information about the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, acting rogue and defying President Trump. He is said to have personally reached out to China's commanders, assuring them he would notify the country if an attack on China would take place. He also instructed senior officials that any attack command from Trump would have to be approved by Milley.

This sign of potential treasonous behavior was met with approval from "The Morning Joe" cast of characters. Joe Scarborough ridiculed his audience – at least the conservatives – by stating they were stupid to think that generals do not commonly behave this way. Tom Elliot of Grabien gives us the clip.

So after years of seeing these political wizards mocking Trump's claims of D.C. being polluted with a swamp political mentality, in just the matter of a few months, they not only recognize that to be the case, they applaud the behavior and call subverting the president of the United States "common sense."

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – WASHINGTON POST

It has been nearly a few days since the media has embarrassed themselves over Governor Ron DeSantis, so it was time for more antics. The latest involves a press conference held for state government employees who would oppose the vaccine requirement they would be facing under Joe Biden's mandated call for all government workers to get the shot. WaPo, along with numerous other outlets, scorched DeSantis when one worker came to the podium and made a declaration that the vaccine alters RNA in people.

They no longer need to quote the governor in order to come up with scathing criticism – he is now held responsible for things other people are saying.

DNC PR FIRM – CNN

  • The administration shutting out the press is the new normal.

There was plenty of intrigue in some circles when, once again, President Biden had remarks he was making in public become shut down in the media pool. The latest involved him speaking with officials in Boise when his feed was cut off just as he began asking a question off teleprompter.

Riding to the defense of the White House was Daniel Dale, delivering a brief thread to explain that cutting off his video feed and ushering out the press from a public meeting was all standard operating procedure.

Let's just recall, during Trump's tenure, there was a lawsuit where it was declared the president could not block citizens on Twitter because his feed was considered the official words of the president and needed to be available to the public. But today, regular blackouts of Biden speaking are SOP and NBD.

Gilded Reframe – THE NEW YORKER

  • When those accusing others of racism are found to be the most guilty...again.

While not a criticism of the report – we are applauding it, actually – this represents a flashy dose of hypocrisy in the industry. Erin Overby of The New Yorker recently concluded a lengthy investigation into their archives to measure just how much minority representation the magazine has displayed over their history. The results are embarrassingly poor.

While this is a refreshing thread from Overby, just recognize these are the same people who leap at every opportunity of charging racism in others. They practice the very same thing they accuse.

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – JACOBIN

It is not entirely clear why the socialist news outlet would be choosing this week to look back at the 1972 Olympics, well after The Summer Games concluded. But more mysterious was the discussion that the controversial USA vs. Russia game overshadowed Cuba's surprising third-place finish that year.

That controversial final was what overshadows the Cuban accomplishment – not the terrorists who stormed the Olympic village and murdered Jewish athletes.
