Discussion Question: What's comforting to you about the mystery that Christ was fully God and fully human?

Food for Thought:

A pair of identical twins were sentenced to probation in 2005 after one of them (Twin A) pleaded guilty to charging over $1,000 on a stolen credit card. She returned later in the day with her twin sister (Twin B) and explained, through apparent laughter, that she hadn't actually been at the hearing earlier in the day. Her twin had stood in on her behalf since she'd had a test at school. The judge wasn't as amused with the switch as the twins were. He rejected the plea bargain and ordered Twin A be taken into custody. When he raised her bail to $50,000, Twin B rejected loudly at which time the judge raised the bail for Twin A again, to $250,000.

While this type of switch between twins normally is left to Hollywood moviemakers, as Christians we are grateful that there was Someone, in Whose image we were created, who stood in our place at our trial. Jesus, fully God and fully man, came to live as one of us. He took on flesh, faced the same temptations we face yet lived a faultless life (unlike us). He took our place in death to save us from our sin. The Good News of Jesus is we all have a Savior who was one of us, lived with us, never sinned, and laid down His life for us.
