Blaming the Jews is the easiest game in town.
Professor Gad Saad has publicly announced his move from Canada to the United States to teach at Ole Miss. He has pointed out that his exit tax is very high and he is leaving behind a country in which he and his family have lived for decades. He has also made it clear that Canada will no longer support its Jews. He recently posted on X that Canadian politicians perform some simple math and realize that there are more Jew haters than Jews, so it’s in their interest to abandon the Jews to their fate and keep their electoral prospects alive.
Ana Kasparian and others have insinuated that the Moroccan invasion of a Spanish outpost was undertaken by Israel. While one might entertain some argument about Israel doing bad in Gaza or Lebanon, he has to either be exceptionally creative or high on drugs to implicate the Jewish state in the movement of around 50,000 military-aged men from a distant Arab country into a Christian European zone. And while I am not privy to anything that the Mossad or Israeli government does away from the spotlight, I have to say that the idea that Israel would get its revenge on the Spanish prime minister by unleashing people over whom it has zero power seems a little far-fetched, even by Internet standards. It was a joke to say that people blamed Jews for every bad thing that happened to them or in the world, but now it is no longer a joke. Tens of thousands of Arabs realized that they might have a future in Europe and lunged at the chance; Morocco saw an opportunity to do some score-settling with its European neighbor and let go of recently-pardoned criminals. And who is at fault for the violence, disorder, fear, and lack of resources? Israel, of course. Not the Moroccans, not the Spanish government, not the feckless army and local police. It’s them Joos, way over there in Israel.
The “blame everything on the Jews and Israel” has real-world consequences. An Israeli was vacationing in the Philippines when a Spaniard started with him. The Israeli was able to take care of his attacker, but there is no evidence that the Spaniard knew the Israeli. He saw a Jew and called him a baby-killer. This is becoming an all-too-familiar refrain: people believe that they have the right to verbally or otherwise attack Israelis and Jews. The Muslim Brotherhood and its many friends on the Left, in Qatar and Iran, and in the media have successfully demonized Jews and Israelis so that the latter can no longer go someplace and enjoy themselves. My wife has friends who recently flew out to California, and I heard her give final instructions that included not speaking Hebrew openly. That’s it. Israelis are now lepers and can be freely taunted, threatened, attacked, and worse. Some Italian Jewish youths were in a hotel in Bulgaria — a popular low-cost destination for Israelis by the way — and some guys were doing Heil Hitler salutes outside of their window and trying to get into the hotel. I hope that Gad Saad lives to old age and never has to leave America. Would I put money on it? Right now, we’re approaching with the Muslim-lefty alliance joined by the Woke Reich/Groper “Right” a near jump ball in American politics. Mamdani will help to empty New York of its Jews. Which antisemitic president will try to do the same for the country as a whole?
None of this is new for people who know history. Places where Jews were accepted and respected turned on them, if not immediately then after decades or even centuries. Jews had to flee virtually every European country at some point in history, and obviously Jews did their best to exit Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia as conditions allowed. When in Germany, I saw a plaque commemorating a Jewish ritual bath — from way back in the 15th century. Eight hundred and fifty thousand Sephardic Jews were driven from Arab lands where they had lived for generations. America should be different, but will it? Will true American values hold tight and keep antisemitism on the back-burner or will the U.S. become one more country where Jews were once welcome and no longer are? People will look back at Jews in the Marines or playing professional baseball, and sigh, “Yes, those were the days.”
Let’s do a thought experiment. Outside of Hollywood, it’s hard to do “what if” guesses regarding history. What if Hitler had choked on his paint brush? What if Mao had been bitten by a rattlesnake? Any suggestion of an alternative history is speculation at best and pure distortion at worst. But let’s talk for a moment if there never was a modern state of Israel. Let’s imagine the period after the Holocaust and either the British simply staying in Mandate Palestine or the present land of Israel becoming a part of the modern Kingdom of Jordan. What then of the Jews? Let’s imagine a charitable case where those living in Displaced Persons (DP) Camps were sent to the various countries of the world. Jews would continue their ways as would the countries in which they lived. And as we witness today, whenever there was some bump, it would be the Jews who would be blamed. War? The Jews. Economic catastrophe? The Jews. Excess immigration? The Jews. The nonexistence of the state of Israel, like the demanded erasure of the same by the lefty/Muslim alliance, would not make life better for the Jews of the world. Instead of blaming Israel for Moroccans in some Spanish enclave in Africa or high food prices in the U.S., the same characters would blame the Jews for their personal and national tsoris (Yiddish: suffering). The same claims of a nefarious international cabal would take hold with those who are losers and are looking for the culprits for their being losers. Can Ms. Kasparian give us a chart showing the clear connection between Israel and the Moroccan takeover of Ceuta? Is she just speculating? Is she just entertaining her fans by once again blaming the Jews? If one makes a claim, he should have solid proof to back it up. You see how many links I put into a typical article: if I claim something, I do my best to provide support for my argument. When one blames the Jews or Israel for something, that’s enough — no proofs necessary because it’s obvious. Like the juice containers that come with their own mini-straw, blaming Israel has assumed proof already built in.
Some like to say that the problems Jews face in the world are a valid reason for a Jewish state. One can argue chicken and egg, but the bottom line is that part of the Muslim invasion of the West has included a very healthy dose of Jew hatred that has rubbed off on much of the local populations. Ms. Kasparian is Armenian and should be more aware of mass murder, as was performed by Turks on her people. But the spirit of the age is to hate Jews, including Ben Shapiro, whom she enjoys attacking. Just as a failed medical diagnosis means that the patient will only get sicker and may die, blaming the Jews for everything means that the real problems will not be addressed. Muslim takeover of Europe, the Woke Reich pushing false economic and social narratives, continued DEI failures will all be ignored because people will be blaming Israel for everything from their bad breath to the high cost of beef. And as the Nazis learned in 1944, as Jews disappear, it’s harder to blame them for problems. Mamdani and Tucker Carlson will learn the same.
