The former president seems awfully busy jet-setting around the world.
Most American presidents retire to a quieter life away from the responsibilities and challenges of leading the free world. While they generally do not slink back into anonymity, they rarely reach the news as they find new endeavors and have more time for family and friends. Chopping wood, biking, running — former presidents keep busy in many areas other than politics. Sure, Jimmy Carter could not help himself from going to North Korea as a private citizen or acting as an election observer when the Palestinians last had elections, but for the most part, presidents leave and both the country and their parties are happy to have them gone.
The exception obviously is Barack Obama. With two unmarried daughters and a wife who seems as pleasant as poison ivy, the former president does not yet have grandchildren to take to the park or a quiet home life that is fulfilling. Obama has multiple houses and some Netflix work. But what he appears most busy doing is remaining or returning to politics. He has been filmed several times near 10 Downing Street and most recently with my fellow classmate Mark Carney, who currently runs Canada before he returns to Europe for another gig there. Why is the former president so busy meeting with current world leaders? What’s his plan?
Barack Obama plans to rejigger the United States to be like Europe—socialist, stagnant and under complete governmental control. Not everybody from his administration was present with Joe Biden, but almost everybody in Biden’s White House was an Obama alum. Many have called the Biden presidency Barack Obama’s third term, and with the clear mental and physical decline of Joe Biden, such a claim does not seem unreasonable. The goal has always been governmental control and their ultimate fantasy is a world government, in which local governments are subservient to the all-knowing, all-powerful central apparatus. One sees it with the EU and its adversarial relationship with Poland and Hungary, and one sees it with the mostly neutered UN. If the UN had real power, it would use it to control the United States.
When Obama was president, he initiated changes to US patent laws. If you ever see the word “harmonizing” and it doesn’t refer to the Beach Boys, run for the hills. The then-president wanted to harmonize US patent law with that of Europe. The ostensible reason was to make patent prosecution and enforcement a more universal endeavor. One of the biggest changes was to award a patent right to the first to file for a patent and not the first to invent. There are cases in which an inventor can prove in court that he or she invented something before a different party filed for protection for the same invention. And while in reality most inventors who are first to invent are also first to file, such has not always been the case. A broader question about turning the US patent system into its European counterpart would be, why? The US is an inventing and creating powerhouse. Europe is not. I once met the technology scout for Kimberly-Clark. He told me that he looked in the US and Israel for new stuff and did not bother with Europe or Japan. Europe has no tech companies in the top firms by market value. Why would the US want to mimic the patent system of an unproductive region? Because one government means that we all do the same things.
It has been shown that the Biden White House coordinated with the FBI on the raid on Donald Trump’s home in Florida. Many have argued that the feds were looking for the document relating to then-President Obama's intelligence finding that Donald Trump was working with the Russians. When the real intelligence briefings showed no such arrangement, the sitting president ordered that such a relationship be invented. The action was treasonous and it caused great division in the US and wasted 2.5 years of Donald Trump’s first stint as president. To this day, there are people claiming that Donald Trump is a Putin stooge, just as they say that he was up to his neck in Epstein debauchery. Neither claim is true, but try to make people believe otherwise. When a Talmudic sage was told that everyone said that his sister was a prostitute, he protested that he didn’t have a sister. “Go prove that you don’t have a sister,” he was told.
Barack Obama, lacking much of a meaningful home life or other hobbies, spends his time trying to continue his political activities of yore. He will not run for president again, but he wants the next election and the future of the United States to be according to his goals. The US has always been different than Europe, and today, with Donald Trump at the helm, the differences are glaring. Even under Joe Biden, Americans rejected a “Disinformation Board” run by a weirdo lady whose fantasy was to close your X and Facebook accounts. The Europeans want to make it impossible for someone to express an opinion that has not been officially approved. We saw it with the early worries and complaints about the Covid mRNA vaccines. Thousands of YouTube videos were removed because they suggested that the vaccines might be dangerous. For Obama & Crew, controlling speech is the way to “save democracy”. Funny that countries that punished people who misspoke, like Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, also liked to boast about their democratic elections. God-given rights of free speech and bearing arms are the two pillars against Obama and Friends’ unfriendly takeover of the United States.
Some Democrats have been very clear as to their goals should they ever take power again in Washington. They would add states (Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico) in order to strengthen their hand in the Senate. They would add another six justices in order to dilute the conservative forces present in the Supreme Court. They would reopen the border and use American tax money to finance illegal aliens’ living expenses. And they would work to remove “disinformation,” which is simply a sophisticated way of describing your opinions, namely the ones that they don’t like. John Kerry, and I am always grateful that he went to Yale, says that the First Amendment is bad for democracy. And while he is right that there are people out there who lie and misrepresent, that is the price for the rest of us being able to express ourselves and reveal information uncomfortable to Kerry and his class (like him flying private while talking climate change or not wearing a mask flying during Covid). The American Republic is noisy, messy, and oftentimes contradictory. The alternative, the smooth-running top-down controlled fake democracy that Obama and his buddies want, may seem better, but it is a disaster for personal rights. The Democrats’ dumb policy ideas (AOC: No more billionaires!) can only work when nobody can express how awful their policies are.
Americans, or at least a majority of them, don’t want the dystopian America that Barack Obama and his friends want to sell us. We want to have a strong military and be the leader of the free world. We want to express ourselves online without worry of a knock on the door for wrongthink. We want a secure border and a country where men and women are accepted as different and not forced to invent pronouns or compete with the wrong sex. The Obama Project is the Leftist fantasy of decades, and the former president’s globetrotting is part of his effort to get the US on board with the universal lefty government project. I hope he fails — miserably. He should go learn knitting.
