Former U.S. Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) joins the ranks of Democrats jettisoned in the name of the party.

Nikita Khrushchev went on a short holiday. It wasn’t easy being the post-Stalin leader of the USSR. When he came home, he was denounced and soon replaced by Leonid Brezhnev. The latter had conspired in Khrushchev's absence to get the Politburo to replace the bald maverick, and the off-ramp was set before the outgoing party leader returned to Moscow. His son said that his father was furious, threw his briefcase, and swore like a Russian. When the party is above all, everyone becomes expendable.

There are many differences between the current iterations of the Democratic and Republican parties. One that stands out is the centrality of the party over the party functionaries. With the Democrats, an individual is only as good as he can advance the interests of the party. When people like Harvey Weinstein, Joe Biden, and Eric Swalwell outlived their usefulness, they were jettisoned as if they had never been known. Until the first and only 2024 debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, we were told that the latter was sharp as a tack, in charge, coherent, and thoughtful. When Trump said that he didn’t know what Biden answered and that Biden also didn’t know, the show was over. Immediately, the sitting president was described as clueless and not all there. The same media that had sworn that the president was as fit as a fiddle let us know that Joe Biden was showing signs of dementia and that his “Big Guy” dealings may not have been so kosher. Biden had his final revenge by choosing Kamala Harris to run in his place, something that Pelosi and Obama had not wanted. She had zero primary votes but was the nominee.

One might say that the Republicans are no better. But is it so? U.S. Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO-4) thoroughly embarrassed herself, but here she is still in Congress. Many in the GOP tried to get rid of Donald Trump between 2020 and 2024. They were not opposed to the legal steps taken against the then-former president, and some spoke of Ron DeSantis as Donald Trump on policy without all of the colorful baggage. But who wasn’t listening? The Republican voters. Just as they chose him from a packed field of “policy experts” and “experienced hands” in 2016, Republican primary voters gave massive victories to Donald Trump. Whereas the Democrats can just dump bodies as needed, the Republican voters still have the last say on their guys. Ron DeSantis and others saw the writing on the wall and wisely threw their support behind the current president and presented a united front for a landslide victory in 2024.

That Khrushchev and Biden could suffer the same fate is not really that surprising. The modern Democratic Party wouldn’t recognize JFK or Bobby Kennedy, Sr. The party has allowed its fringe Left-Wing to gobble up the entire operation. For the few old timers still in Congress, they dare not cross the AOC contingent that is only growing in size and power within Democratic institutions. The party formerly friendly to workers, minorities, and Israel is today a woke mix of unserious policies and members. Several are under investigation as to how they got so rich so quickly after coming to Congress. They are all for an open border and US taxpayers footing the bill for healthcare and other needs of illegal aliens. They have no plan to protect the US from the likes of Iran or China. Their goals are redistributive, and they have nothing appealing to offer the American people. It’s not for nothing that they want unsecure elections, as they can’t win on the strength of their platform or stated goals. They would love for gas to be over $10 a gallon, so that they could push more solar panels and wind farms to further make the country ugly. They have no clue how markets or energy production work. They think that green is the answer to everything, while Europe is demanding less electricity usage due to the destruction of nuclear and coal power plants.

Swalwell should have been called out years ago, and Biden should not have been allowed to run (or used to bat away Bernie Sanders in the primaries). But they were useful for the party, specifically then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who could control fellow Californian Swalwell and Barack Obama, who supplied Biden with all of the people around him. The party was all, and it could cut both ways. For Swalwell, he could take advantage of many women, and he was guaranteed that neither fellow Democrats nor Democrat-controlled media would say a peep. But when he was in the way of Tom Steyer possibly winning the governorship of California, his usefulness came to an end. Dozens came forward to accuse Swalwell of wrongdoing, and the party washed its hands of him. He left the governor’s race, as demanded, but his departure from the House seems a little bit stickier.

The above outcomes for Biden and Swalwell are reminders that, like J. Edgar Hoover, the Democratic leadership has “kompromat” on its members and can either keep it in secret files or release it as the party requires. In 2028, several Democrats like Gavin Newsom and JB Pritzker plan to run. If it were the Republicans, the party would just let them run until one of them won and then get the voters to coalesce around the chosen candidate. But since Barack Obama defeated Hilary Clinton, those rules no longer apply to the Donkeys. At some point during the 2028 primaries, party leaders like Obama and Pelosi will figure out which candidate has a) the best chance of winning and b) will be most beholden to them. And just as they hijacked the 2020 South Carolina primary to make Biden the “consensus candidate” to blunt a surging Bernie Sanders, they will pull out some pictures or documents and encourage some number of candidates to drop out and support their guy or gal. It’s about as organic as a plastic banana.

Many people have claimed that the Democrats have gone full Marxist. You certainly see the teachers’ union appearing to be more concerned with illegal aliens than actually teaching American kids how to read and write. The party above everybody definitely seems to mimic that Soviet system, where people were not only removed from their positions but also deleted from pictures and history. Vyacheslav Molotov, the foreign minister of the Soviet Union, fell out of favor and vanished, though he had played a huge role during and after World War II. Late in his life, he was “rehabilitated” and allowed back into the history books. Not so by Democrats: once stricken, forever gone.

How powerful and evil are these people? The woman who tearfully described what Eric Swalwell did to her recounts her experiences from 2018. Was she in a cryogenically-induced coma for eight years, woke up, and immediately told the world about this cad? No. She was either paid off and/or given warnings that opening her mouth might just close it forever. Now that Swalwell has a Democrat-approved target on his back, she can talk. But why did we know nothing of her story? Because the party leadership and the press wanted Swalwell in Congress and on important committees. If she had written on her own what she now tearfully tells, she would have been marginalized like the women who came out against Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. She would have been treated as a hallucinating freak, or she might have worried about an 11 PM fatal car crash. These people are ruthless, and they don’t care about the US or its citizens. They only want power and have no barriers against attaining it. Jail Trump. Shoot at Trump. Whatever. We want the White House.
