My name is Vernon A. Jones and I’m launching a movement whose time is long-past due.

I am a proud Republican who's spent a career fighting the establishment across Georgia, and America, because I’ve always held a healthy disdain for big government, elitist liberals, and out-of-touch “thought leaders” who work to divide people for their own personal gain, rather than build people up for the good of their community, state and country.

Unfortunately, grand-standing Democrats, the so-called political “elite,” and RINOs who refused to stand up for millions of Georgians during the 2020 elections aren’t interested in doing what is right for working families and patriotic Americans, which is why I come before you with a big announcement.

Georgians deserve a leader who puts their interests first, not the interests of a permanent Washington political class.

Georgians deserve a leader who will fight for them, no matter the attempts at intimidation from the radical left, woke corporations, viscous cable news pundits or out-of-touch Hollywood celebrities.

Georgians deserve a transparent government that understands it works for the people, not the other way around.

Governor Brian Kemp has failed Georgia and continues to refuse to fight for We the People, and that’s why I am officially announcing my candidacy for Governor of the great state of Georgia.

We are in the midst of a battle that will determine the future of not just Georgia, but the future of America and our great experiment known as Democracy.

I plan to listen. I will be not only a voice—but also a fighter—for those who feel they haven’t been listened to, for those who feel their voice wasn’t counted, and for those who feel the incumbent governor simply doesn’t represent them.

I was honored to recently meet with former President Donald Trump where I discussed my home state and the important work ahead. And I have a message for the million of Georgians who staunchly support President Trump—the national media, Democrats, and fake-Republicans may have tried to cast you, but I haven’t and neither has the 45th President of the United States.

Look—we’d rather hang together and change this country for the better, than fold to the fake-outrage Twitter mob and Cancel-Culture-Left.

We’re building an Army. An Army of Republicans, an Army of independents, and an army of Democrats.

Now, the establishment and outlets like the AJC are going to come after me hard, because they know Brian Kemp cannot beat Stacey Abrams. But I can.

So, the media, the AJC, and others will say Brian Kemp is the best thing since sliced bread until the general election. Well, we can’t afford to put Kemp up against Stacey Abrams.

Unlike Kemp, I’m un-bought and un-bossed, and this horrifies the left.

I am Pro-Second Amendment, I am Pro-Life, and I will work with anyone who will put my state, and my country, first. And I have a message of unity, I’ve stood strong against attacks from the left and I am not afraid to take on the bigotry of today’s Democrat Party.

The left in this country, and especially here in Georgia, have hijacked the civil rights movement for money and corrupt political gain and I refuse to accept it and we need Republicans who will fight back.

Instead of focusing on the real divisions dragging Americans down, we are fed a false narrative based on race-baiting, identity politics, and widespread propaganda fed to the masses. And unfortunately, some of our current Republican leaders, including Mr. Kemp, refuse to fight back out of either fear, or simply because they don’t care.

I know people like Brian Kemp. I served as chief executive officer of DeKalb County from 2000 until 2008 and most recently in the State House. Instead of digging into why so many Americans are so frustrated, Brian Kemp and so many others have chosen to ridicule, condemn and misrepresent the facts.

The rhetoric only feeds into the discontent and disdain so many Americans have for Washington.

Brian Kemp, just like the permanent Washington political establishment, dismissed legitimate concerns regarding this past election. I refuse to engage in conspiracy theories, and I am not making any conclusions without evidence, but the concerns of so many people must be heard. Tens of millions of Americans have legitimate concerns surrounding the election. Instead of responding to their concerns with facts and reassurance, Brian Kemp, just like Washington Democrats and the coastal elites, reacted with disdain, misinformation and censorship.

Today’s Democrat Party embraces identity politics and victimhood. I refuse to judge a man or woman by his or her skin color and I refuse to accept victimhood as my destiny.

Brian Kemp and establishment RINOs are more interested in cozying up to the coastal elites and cable news hosts, than they are interested in representing Georgia’s hardworking men and women who want to provide for their families, make their communities better and live fulfilling lives.

I am excited to share my vision with the people of Georgia, and all I ask is that you give my campaign a fair look and I think you may like what you see—no matter who you are.

It’s time to feel the Vern.
