Dr. Fauci Laughs at CNN Anchor for Suggesting He Was Careless in the Rose Garden

CNN anchor Briana Keilar asked Dr. Anthony Fauci to explain his actions in the Rose Garden on Friday, when he helped President Trump provide an update on the exploding coronavirus outbreak. The doctor touched the same microphone which Trump had just spoken into, and Keilar demanded answers because it was around the same time that Trump had tested for coronavirus after coming in contact with a Brazilian official who had tested positive for the virus. Even though Trump's test came back negative, Keilar pushed and pushed her narrative that Fauci was being careless.

"You actually touched the same podium and microphone as the president and other CEOs, even at the same time," Keilar said, demanding that Fauci take a look at the photo with her.

She asked her guest whether he planned on taking a COVID-19 test.

"No," Fauci said. "I'm not taking a test for several reasons. I have no symptoms. I'm practicing pretty good social distancing."

"Not everybody in the United States should take a test," he added. "I have no symptoms, there's no reason for me to take a test. If I'm at a situation where I'm at a higher risk, I will take a test."

But the microphone!

"The picture you showed about the microphone, let's get real here," Fauci laughed. "I mean there are certain things that you have to do...My putting my two fingers to get the microphone down isn't that bad, so I don't think we should make something of that."

The doctor handled himself well. But RNC spokeswoman Liz Harrington chimed in with a few counter questions for Keilar. If the anchor was that worried about Fauci's actions, then why would she dare to sit so close to him? Careless!
