David Limbaugh Implores Skeptics to Read His Least 'Aggressive' Christian Book Yet as Culture 'Worsens'

“We are in a war,” author David Limbaugh matter-of-factly told Townhall. “A culture war for the destiny of the United States.”

Had Hillary Clinton succeeded President Barack Obama, “the left’s general for eight years,” Limbaugh believes she "would’ve come as close to completing the transformation of America as possible.”

“I’m not sure there would’ve been a turning back,” he said.

He has a point. The liberal transformation of America has produced a culture in which bakers are being maligned for refusing to cater gay weddings, popular TV shows and films continue to mock Christians, and conservative speakers are being bullied by progressive students (more on that later.)

The anti-Christian climate makes Limbaugh’s third book on faith, “The True Jesus: Uncovering the Divinity of Christ in the Gospels,” as timely as ever. The book, he explains, is different from his first two Christian books in that instead of him engaging in apologetics, he lets the Gospels speak for themselves.

Approach it with an open mind and heart, the author implored curious readers.

“It’s less aggressive,” he explained. “The Bible is its best apologetic. Don’t take my word for it – try it yourself.”

Once a Bible skeptic himself, Limbaugh said he used to try and fashion God in his own image. When he went to the actual source and started studying Scripture, he found the evidence of the Savior “overwhelming.”

Yet, the secular left is not interested in yielding any ground to Christians, the author explained. Instead of debating the facts, progressives are more interested in labeling Christians as idiots and bigots whose ideas need to be suppressed.

We’ve seen this scene played over and over again on college campuses. Too often, when a conservative or a Christian is invited to speak, progressives demand he or she be booted from the podium. At Berkeley, liberal activists literally torched their school to protest conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos.

“The left, in the name of preventing speech that might lead to violence, commits violence,” Limbaugh observed.

The author surmised that liberals are so apt to suppress differing opinions because they are not as confident in their ideas as conservatives.

“I really do think it’s gotten progressively worse,” Limbaugh said. “They’ve been emboldened. Then when there’s some counter, it doesn’t cause them to cower. They get more emboldened. They’re an irrepressible force – the secular left. They are really relentless.”

“Appeasement will not help,” he concluded. “They view appeasement as weakness.”

So, Limbaugh again points to God's word to instruct Christians how to respond. The Bible, he notes, clearly says we have a duty to evangelize. As Jesus said, it’s our duty “to make disciples of nations.”

“Not everyone has to be a pastor,” Limbaugh noted. At the very least, Christians can use whatever platform they have to plant the seed of faith.
