Charlie Rangel: Washington Lawmakers 'Deserve to Be Protected' By Guns

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) was confronted by a Daily Caller reporter on Wednesday as Democrats were staging a gun control sit-in on the House floor. The lawmaker was asked about the hypocrisy of Democrats' pushing for gun control when they are protected by men with guns on Capitol Hill every day. Here's how the exchange went (it's worth noting he was laughing during his response):

Leigh went to Capitol Hill to count all the armed police officers guarding Capitol Hill last week. He tallied 34.

This kind of protection is expected for him and his colleagues, Rangel insists. For everyday Americans? Not so much.
