Yesterday, the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBT civil rights organization in the U.S., endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, in a move that angered many of the group's supporters.

While Clinton was thrilled with the endorsement, some of the Human Rights Campaign's supporters were less enthused and were quick to point out that Clinton has had a less-than-stellar track record on issues relating to gay rights. Clinton first endorsed the idea of gay marriage in 2013 and had previously supported the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), whereas Sanders has supported same-sex unions and gay rights for the past several decades.

.@HRC @HillaryClinton has only supported SS marriage SINCE 2013. She SUPPORTED DOMA. She's no defender of gays, she only changed position

@HRC HRC you are way off track, @HillaryClinton is nothing more than a republican disguised as a democrat. It's a shame you are blind.

Are you kidding me @HRC? @HillaryClinton didn't even support marriage equality until 2013. Shameful. @BernieSanders is my candidate.

.@HRC @HillaryClinton As a gay guy, I DON'T support this endorsement or Hillary as a gay rights leader. I SUPPORT #BernieSanders.

Perhaps this is the reason why HRC is supporting the other HRC?
