Sarah Palin Writes Pun-Filled Thank-You Note to Singer Adele

In a recent interview, singer Adele credited Sarah Palin's appearance on Saturday Night Live the same night she was the show's musical guest as helping to launch her career into super-stardom.

Palin had originally been scheduled for a different episode, but was forced to adjust her schedule due to the campaign. The episode was one of the most viewed in the show's history because of Palin's appearance, and exposed the singer to legions of viewers.

From Mashable:

"Because something came up in the campaign, she came and did [SNL] the week I was doing it."

The result? Not only did the episode became one of the most watched in the show's history, it ushered in a streak of triumph for Adele.

"It was one of the most watched SNLs ever and then it was two weeks before the Grammy ballot, which is when people decide what songs they want to maybe nominate, so, like, literally the stars aligned for me," she explained.

"The album shot to number one on iTunes and I was nominated for a Grammy and then I won one! It was a joke! It was a joke. All thanks to Sarah Palin!"

As it turns out, Sarah Palin is a big Adele fan. The former Alaska governor was touched by the singer's remarks, and wrote her an adorable thank-you note filled with puns based off of Adele's song titles, and sent her a copy of her new book.

Very cute! It's almost unbelievable to me that Palin's SNL appearance was over seven years ago. So much has changed since then! Adele is a very talented singer and deserves all of her success--and she was lucky enough to perform on a show that millions of people would be tuning in for.
